SETTING GOALS (1)
Dear Reader,
I welcome you again into a new month! I am so honoured sharing God’s mind with you in this last month of the third quarter of the year. It is such a great privilege given to me by God to reach out to great minds, world changers and future leaders like you. To God alone be all the glory forever! I know your expectations for the year may have been distorted due to the present Covid-19 pandemic and you may have lost all hope for the expectations you have for this year but the good news is, everything God has in store for you for the year shall come to pass! It is my earnest prayer that every desire of your heart this year shall be manifested, in the name of Jesus Christ! I shall be discussing with you today on the topic I titled: ‘Goal Setting’. It may seem that the year has gone far to pursue your expectations, goals and set rules. Though in reality, not many people sincerely keep to their words and not many goals set in time past has been realised. Not many people can actually bring out their list and thick all or most of it as achieved. This is why this article is essential at this time of the year.
The Bible says, For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it (Luke 14:28)? To identify what goal setting is, you must first understand what a goal is. Most of the time, people do not see their goals realised because they actually do not understand what a goal is. So, they set unrealistic targets and expect it to manifest on its own.
A goal is a future achievement with a timeframe you can work with. It is an aim or a purpose that must be achieved. It can also be a thought or an idea that you intend to make real. Understand that goals are not achieved on their own; they entail work and efforts from you to make them work.
Goal setting is a powerful process for thinking about what you stand to achieve in the nearest future and for motivating yourself to turn the vision of your future into reality. The process of setting goals help you choose where you want to go in life within a stipulated period of time. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know where you have to concentrate your efforts. You can also quickly spot possible distractions that can easily lead you astray when you set goals. Scripture says, Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established (Proverbs 24:3).
However, to accomplish your goals, you need to know how to set them. You cannot simply say, ‘I want’ and expect it to happen. Goal setting is a process that starts with careful consideration of what you want to achieve and ends with a lot of hard work to actually do it. Remember, goal setters are go-getters. Thus, if you must achieve that which you have set to do, then get at them now!
If you are not yet born again and you desire to do so right now, please pray this prayer with faith in your heart: Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank You for saving me. Now I know I am born again!
Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary.
