COVENANT RESPONSIBILITY FOR SINGLES – Part 2
Dear Reader,
Welcome to the concluding part of this teaching. In the first teachings, we established two keys to actualising your covenant responsibilities. This week, we shall examine the last key to Covenant Responsibility for Singles.
Work with your Hand. As a youth, you must possess a working hand. Today, many young people prefer quick money, pleasure and pressure-free life. However, it is important to note that God hates idleness. See the case of the parable of the workers in the vineyard. Jesus met different people at different hours of the day, and He told them to go into the vineyard because there was something for everybody to do (Matthew 20: 1-16). So, it is beautiful to work with your hands and not rely on what people give you. There is nothing wrong with people dashing you things, but don’t wait for that. Instead, desire to grow to be someone that will be a giver. The Bible says: He becometh poor that deals with a slack hand… (Proverbs 10:4).
Also, do not be one of the youths who sleep from morning till evening and do not work. If you don’t drive yourself right now to possess working hands, by the time you grow older, it would be difficult or impossible to do so. See the case of Adam (Genesis 2: 19-20). The Bible tells us that God brought all the animals to Adam to see the name He would call them, and whatever name Adam called them, it was the name thereafter. It was after work the issue of marriage came up. Nobody wants to marry a man that is not responsible or not working. You should not rely on your father, mother or uncle to fend for you or your family. Therefore, it is your covenant responsibility to possess working hands. God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo, has said over and again that responsibility is the price of greatness. You can never wish for greatness; you must work your way towards greatness, and one of the major ways you do that is by being responsible.
The word “responsibility” is two words put together into one. Response– ability. Your ability to respond to issues of life. What do you do with your hands? What career are you into? It must be noted that no matter the career you are into, don’t make money your focus; instead, make God your focus. You have a covenant responsibility to possess working hands. The Word God says: For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10). Therefore, possess working hands and the grace of God to keep increasing in that direction will be multiplied upon your life in the name of Jesus’ name!
So, as you put these three keys to work, I see God taking you higher than you ever imagined in your covenant walk with Him!
To effectively fulfil your covenant responsibility, you need the help of God. If you are not born again, please say this prayer of faith: Dear Lord, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Now, I know I am born-again!
Congratulations, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave or forsake you. With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace, in Jesus’ name! Please write or call to share your testimonies with me through oyedepofaitha@gmail.com OR 08141320204.
