A Balanced Woman-Part 1
Dear Reader,
Welcome to the month of April. I pray God perfects all that concerns you this month in Jesus’ name. This month, we will focus on A Balanced Woman.
As a woman, you have a lot of roles and duties calling for your attention on a daily basis. That is why you may get anxious, tensed and exhausted in a bit to juggle between your roles, thereby making you live an imbalanced life. Among others, homemaking is the primary duty of a woman. The Word says: Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands (Proverbs 14:1). In a bid to make ends meet, fulfill purpose, support their husbands and be a voice in the society, most women pursue careers, run businesses, become entrepreneurs and may even take up leadership positions. Looking at the account of the Proverbs 31 woman, it was evident she was a businesswoman, so she combined her role as a mother, wife, daughter, boss, manager of her husband’s resources, fashion designer, etc. Note that it is not out of place for a woman to pursue her career/business alongside running her God-given home effectively. Therefore, there is a need to maintain a proper balance so that one will not suffer at the expense of the other. The Word says: A false balance is an abomination to the Lord… (Proverbs 11:1).
However, as many women rise in their careers, they tend to misplace their priorities and become so overwhelmed with their work that the relationship and needs of their husbands and children are not only strained but destroyed. Such women also delegate the upbringing and training of their children to house helps, neighbours and grandmothers and may not attend to the preparation of their husband’s meals. So, we need to emulate the Proverbs 31 woman and learn how she lived a balanced life.
On the other hand, some overzealous Kingdom steward women are so engrossed with God’s work that they leave their households unattended. It is vital to note that wisdom is always profitable to direct. The Word says: I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give no occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully (1 Timothy 5:14). We are in a wicked and perverse generation, where we have teenage pregnancies, fraternity, cultism, drugs and peer pressure, and as such, our children’s destiny should be our utmost priority and must not allow Satan destroy our homes and testimonies.
To live a balanced life, you must set your priorities right. As a woman, your home must be your number one focus. Try as much as possible not to carry hang-ups from work to the house; leave everything behind the moment you step out of your work/business place. The Scripture says: Let all things be done decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40).
Therefore, to create the balance needed to have a good home and engage with other pursuits you desire, you need the help of the Holy Spirit. If you are not born again, please say this prayer of faith: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner, and I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. From today, Lord Jesus, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now, I am Born Again.
Congratulations! You are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave or forsake you. With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace, in Jesus’ name!
