Wisdom Preserves!- Part 1
Dear Reader,
Welcome to this new month of January. I pray the wisdom of God opens doors of opportunities for you and your family in Jesus’ name! This month, we will be examining Wisdom Preserves!
According to the dictionary, wisdom is defined as the quality of having experience, knowledge and good judgement; the quality of being wise. Bishop David Oyedepo defines wisdom as knowing what to do from the Scripture and doing it. The Word says: Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. (Proverbs 14:1). A wise woman can be said to be one who knows what to do per time from the scriptures. Today, many Christian women are experiencing a lot of frustration simply because of a lack of wisdom. May every act of foolishness be rooted out of your life in Jesus’ name! Therefore, you must understand that no woman can successfully build her home without wisdom. The Bible clearly says wisdom is better than the weapon of war (Ecclesiastes 9:18). Therefore, you must acquire it. The Word says: Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee (Proverbs 4:5-6). If you want to preserve your home, wisdom is nonnegotiable.
How then can you get this In-estimable Virtue?
- Fear the Lord: The Word says: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom… (Proverbs 9:10). This is the foundation of wisdom. To fear God means to have reference, regard for, respect and hold God in high esteem. Your reference for God as a woman will culminate in your obedience to His instructions. The Scripture says, Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve you the Lord (Joshua 24:14). If you want to be a wise woman, don’t just respect God; obey all of His instructions.
- Ask for Wisdom: You don’t have to run helter-skelter seeking wisdom on what to do or what next step to take when you have God. We have an assurance from the Scripture that wisdom is readily available if we ask for it. The Word says: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him (James 1:5).
- Find Wisdom: Understand that wisdom only comes from God. We can seek and find wisdom from God’s Word. The Bible is the wisdom of God, and it provides answers to every question of life. Search for wisdom as you would search for a hidden treasure, and you are guaranteed answers (Mathew 7:7).
- Steer Clear off Fools: The Word says: A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself (Proverbs 18:2, see also Proverbs 29:11). The above passage has given us some characteristics of foolish people. Such people are everywhere, and you may not be able to avoid them. But as a wise woman, you can steer clear of their destructive path (Proverbs 14:7).
However, to walk in wisdom that preserves, you need the help of God. If you are not born again, please say this prayer of faith: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner, and I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. From today, Lord Jesus, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now, I am Born Again.
Congratulations! You are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave or forsake you. With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace, in Jesus’ name!
