Speak Up!-Part 2
Dear Reader,
Welcome to the concluding part of this edition. I believe you now understand that speaking up as a woman in trying times is not a sign of weakness but of the wise. Therefore, this week, we shall dive deeper into Speak Up!
Other factors that can Hinder Women from Calling for Help:
Laziness: A lazy woman is slow and not willing to work or put effort into anything she is doing; therefore, she is prone to all manners of harassment. The Bible says: Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord (Romans 12:11). May God deliver you from the Spirit of laziness in Jesus’ name! Some women are lazy in many things, such as praying, reading the Bible, and even relating to others. Therefore, wake up from your slumber and put more effort into life so it can deliver its best to you! Laziness can be seen in procrastination, which can affect one’s future negatively. That will not be you in Jesus’ name!
Insensitivity: Spiritual insensitivity is the undoing of many. The Bible says: Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light (Ephesians 5:14). A lot of things happen every day, so seek fresh encounters with God and anointing every day, update yourself and seek progress continuously. Remember the Word says: See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:15-16).
Insecurity: Some women do not call for help because they do not feel safe or protected because they are afraid of being disappointed. Therefore, having experienced some disappointment in some people in the past does not mean that everyone will let you down or reveal your secret. Do not let this stronghold rob you of your desired and much-needed help. Do not be intimidated about what people might say if you open up to them and they get to know you more intimately. What you need is a solution to your situation; in as much as you get it, you are safe.
How to Overcome Challenges so as not to Die in Silence
Ask Relevant Questions: Assumption usually breeds frustration. A woman who is given to assuming many things, for example, would not enjoy peace at home. Why should you assume when you have a mouth to ask? One of the reasons God gave you a mouth is so you can ask questions when necessary! Your mouth is not just for eating and drinking; it is a weapon of war! Even God does not encourage assumption. Despite the fact that He knows whatever you are going through, He still expects you to ask necessary questions so you can receive clarifications. The Word says: For every one that asketh receiveth…(Luke 11:10). Therefore, if you do not ask, do not expect an answer.
Watch and Pray: Apart from impartation, you can also enjoy help rather than die in silence through prayer and watching. The Word says: Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not(Jeremiah 33:3). The subject of prayer in your quest for help cannot be over-emphasised. God is the only one who can give you help when others fail. As your heavenly Father, He promised to give whenever you ask (Matthew 7:7).
Sincere Self-Examination: Another way not to die in silence is by conducting self-examination. The Psalmist said: Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts (Psalm 139:23). Some of the problems that many women encounter are self-inflicted. So, by conducting a self-appraisal often, you will discover that you will have fewer problems to solve. First, sit down and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you the areas that require attention in your life; examine yourself first and carry out an honest assessment of yourself from time to time.
Read Relevant Books: The Word says: Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out… (Proverbs 26:20). Therefore, you need the ‘wood’ of wisdom in order to overcome some of the overwhelming challenges that may come your way as a woman. How do you gather the wood? One way is by reading relevant and edifying books. So, acquire wisdom for every aspect of your life. If wisdom is lacking, you will be bound to struggle. The Bible says: Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding (Proverbs 4:7).
Trust God: Your absolute dependence on God is the foundation of every other step you take to get out of any predicament. The Word says: If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3). Trust God that He will help you; couple it with the understanding that He may decide to use people around you to help you out. Therefore, believe He will perform what He has stated in His Word. The Word says: The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion (Psalm 20:1-2).
However, to be wise woman, you need the help of Jesus. If you are not born again, please say this prayer of faith: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner, and I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. From today, Lord Jesus, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now, I am Born Again.
