Will You Marry Me?- 1
Dear Reader,
Welcome to this exciting month of October, where God will enlighten every dark area of your life in Jesus’ name! This month, we shall be examining Will You Marry Me?
Every single lady awaits patiently for the day they will be asked this golden question, “Will you marry me?” However, most young unmarried men find it difficult to pop the question based on the best reasons known to them. Meanwhile, some ladies who have had the benefit of being asked the question either jumped at the opportunity or lost it entirely simply because they do not know what to watch out for, say or how to say it.
On the other hand, many young men and ladies remain single while trusting God for their life partners in marriage because they refuse to make the necessary effort to attract this blessing. Also, many eligible singles see the act of finding a marriage partner as an uphill task because of so many choices around them and wonder how possible it is to find the right person in a world full of different characters, pretences and uncertainty.
Therefore, it is important to know that God has made some spiritual tools available in His Word for finding a life Partner.
These Tools are as Follows:
Desire a Life Partner: Desire is a strong feeling of wanting to have something. So, singles must sincerely have a strong desire to have a spouse because it is what you desire that you will have. The Word says: The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted (Proverbs 10:24). So, if you sincerely desire in your heart to have a marriage partner, let it find expression on the outside; admit your desire privately and publicly without feeling embarrassed or ashamed. Also, admit your desire before God and man and take your stand boldly.
Therefore, finding a marriage partner is not carnal when it is done using God’s laid down principles. This same desire will consciously push you to find out what God’s provisions are for marriage as written in the Scripture. You must find out what instructions, commandments, corrections, promises and counsel God has made available in making the right choice in marriage. Your primary instruction manual to follow to be sure of success is the Bible. The Scripture is the only sure foundation. Since God is the author of the institution of marriage, He knows it better than any man. He will not hesitate to show them to you when you genuinely ask Him to. The Word says: He that spared not his son, but delivered him up for us all; how shall he not with him also give us all things (Romans 8:32).
Prayer for a Life Partner: Since creation happened, and Adam accused God about the wife He gave him, God no longer interfered in finding marriage partners unless you ask Him in prayers. His Word will show you what to do and how to, but God will not get involved in your choice unless you invite Him. The Word says: And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat (Genesis 3:12). In other words, Adam said, “God, you are the one that gave me this woman who disobeyed You. I did not ask You for a woman… If you had not given me this woman, everything would still be okay. So, it is not my fault but Yours.” From that time till today, God’s new rule for marriage is “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtaineth favour of the Lord” (Proverbs 18:22).
Seek a Life Partner: Another major prerequisite required is seeking to find. The Word says: Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened (Matthew 7:7-8). Also: Whoso findeth a wife, findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord (Proverbs 18:22). Therefore, the act of finding simply means taking conscious steps when considering marriage. Every man must find his wife, and finding is not just a spiritual process; it also involves opening your physical eyes wide to find. It is your responsibility to assess what you are seeing, whether it is what you really want or not.
However, to make the right choice, you need the help of God. To access the help of God, you need to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. So, if you are not born-again, please say this prayer of faith: Dear Lord, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Now, I know I am born again!
Congratulations, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave or forsake you. With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace, in Jesus’ name! Please write or call to share your testimonies with me through oyedepofaitha@gmail.com OR 08141320204.
