The Manifold Blessings of Marriage – Pt 2

Welcome to the concluding part of this edition. I believe you have started enjoying the blessings that accrue to marriage. This week, we shall be examining The Manifold Blessings of Marriage.
More Blessings of Marriage are as follow:
Divine Security. The Word says: And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12). God, the husband and wife form a three-fold cord that is not quickly broken. As man co-operates with God and establishes God’s purpose for marriage in the home, God honours the family by ensuring that nothing evil prevails against it. Therefore, the man and his wife are equipped to withstand, with the help of the Lord, all demonic forces and pressures that may arise.
Physical Fulfillment. God honours the physical union of a man and his wife, and He ensures they find pleasure and fulfilment in each other’s bodies. Apart from preventing temptation, both husband and wife satisfy their sexual urge. They are provided with legitimate avenues to release their sexual desires. This is why God frowns at adultery because your partner should be enough to satisfy you. I often say, humorously, that there is nothing another man or woman has that your partner does not have. All you need is to be content with your spouse then you will enjoy the blessings of marriage. As for me, my marriage has been very exciting and fulfilling; I have tasted God’s goodness in it, and I must say that I am thoroughly enjoying myself. Also, though the Bible makes it very clear that there is no marriage in heaven, I believe my mansion will be next to my husband’s when we finally get to heaven!
Fruit of The Womb. The Word says: …They have a good reward for their labour (Ecclesiastes 4:9), and one of the reward for our labour in the Kingdom is the fruit of the womb. As it is written: Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward (Psalm 127:3). The marriage union is expected to produce children. That was God’s plan from the beginning (Genesis 1:26-28). A marriage that does not enjoy this benefit experience grief and frustration most times.
The fall of Adam and Eve was what opened the door to barrenness. But God sent Jesus to redeem mankind from every curse of the law. Know that if you are born again, you are exempted from barrenness! Therefore, see your griefs and frustrations ending right now! If you are serving the Lord, children are your entitlement. However, the seal of God’s approval is not in just having children but in raising godly ones!
Divine Presence. The Word says: Again, if two lie together, then they have heat… (Ecclesiastes 4:11). The enemy is walking to and fro, looking for “Cold” homes to infiltrate. When there is fighting, discord, selfishness, quarrelling and unforgiveness, the home is “Cold.” On the other hand, when there is love, understanding and harmony in a home, God rewards it with the warmth of His presence and peace that burns off any attack of the devil. For in His presence is fullness of joy and pleasures (Psalm 16:11). That means God’s presence is guaranteed when the husband and wife join hands together to ensure their marriage is managed according to God’s prescriptions, such as unconditional love from the husband and submission by the wife, and doing other little things to keep the family “Aflame.” The man and his wife must keep adding “Wood” to their marriage to ensure the fire never goes out (Proverbs 26:20).
Finally, the Word says: … be ye all of one mind … (1 Peter 3:8). Therefore, to enjoy the blessings of God, couples must be of one mind in purpose and desire.
However, the first step to enjoying blessings in your marriage is to have an intimate relationship with your Creator. If you are not born again, please say this prayer of faith: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner, and I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. From today, Lord Jesus, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now, I am Born Again.
