Understanding Vision-2

Welcome to the concluding part of this teaching. I trust you now understand what vision is, why you need it and its source. In this concluding part, we shall be examining, How to Access God’s Vision for Your Life, among others.

How do you Know God’s Vision for your Life?

Through your Giftings. You already possess special gifts and talents from the Lord. The Word says: Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us… (Romans 12:6). God wants you to pursue those dreams and desires that you love. What you desire the most is a pointer to what you have been gifted to accomplish. You are not an accident or a misfit; you are created for a purpose. There are some questions you need to ask yourself, ‘What do I love most?, What do I love to talk about?, What change will I love to make in my society or in the lives of people around me?’ The secret to fulfillment in business, career, vocation and other areas is linked with locating your vision and walking in line with its fulfillment.

To actualise God’s vision for your life, you will go through various seasons in life; these include:

• Season of Preparation. No one was born qualified for any position in life; you must work for it. Let us take Moses as a typical example, he spent 40 years learning the ways of the Egyptians (Acts 7:22) and another 40 years learning the lessons of leadership and priesthood (Exodus 3:1). Also, our Lord Jesus Christ spent 30 years preparing for His ministry, even as the Son of God (Luke 3:23).
• Season of Waiting. There is a fruit of the spirit that must be in one’s life to maximise the season of waiting. This fruit is called patience. Sarah waited on God till the promise, Isaac, was delivered. The Word says: Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised (Hebrew 11:11). We must never lose sight of our waiting season, but let patience have its perfect work (James1:4). All through one’s waiting season, there is a lesson to learn, and that is what makes the waiting season worthwhile. You gather enough truth  and information that is needed for the journey ahead.

The Following are Ways of Accessing Visions:

• Meekness. You must possess the virtue of humility when asking God for anything, irrespective of your titles, positions, intelligence and wisdom. We have to come to Him empty and with all humility of heart to receive from God (Matthew 5:5).
• Quietness. You must practice quietness, especially in your inner mind, in order to hear from God. The Word says: But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit(1 Peter 3:4).Quietness is not just about keeping quiet; it is about abstaining from noise in the heart. Noise can come in form of opinions, advice and counsel.
• Worship. God reveals things to us when we worship Him because we lay our crowns at His feet and allow Him take over, and in turn, He reveals mysteries to us. For instance, some men of God do not minister except there is a slow worship played in the background. The Word says: And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him” (1 Sam. 16:23).

However, to understand your vision in life, you need salvation. If you are not born again, please say this prayer of faith: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner, and I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. From today, Lord Jesus, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now, I am Born Again.
