ENJOYING MARITAL BLISS (2)
Dear Reader,
Welcome to the concluding part of this teaching. Last time, I examined from God’s Word the tool of wisdom for enjoying marital bliss. Today, I will be unveiling another tool I title, ‘The Law of Departure’.
There are troubles in many Christian homes today because they have failed to practice the law of departure. Many families are not enjoying marital bliss because of this truth. The law of departure is all about gaining parental independence before marriage. This does not mean you have nothing to do with them anymore; it simply means the ability to make decisions that are independent of your parents and accept responsibility for them.
Nothing is more devastating in a marriage when a partner is tied to the apron of his/her parents. The Word says: … For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh (Matthew 19:5).If you want to enjoy marital bliss, there must be a total departure from parents and friends before there can be a total cleaving of husband and wife.
Some Christian parents still carry over their unbelieving mentality of perpetual interference in their children’s married affairs. They see their sons and daughters as babies, so they cannot trust them to make their own decisions. Therefore, they hang around to teleguide them as they used to do with them when they were children. Parents, let your sons depart so they can cleave to their wives and enjoy the best of life!
Furthermore, some couples are not enjoying marital bliss simply because the husbands cannot be said to be men but boys! Marriage is for men and women, not for boys and girls! At the slightest provocation, some women would say to their husbands, ‘I am going home’. This shows their lack of understanding of the covenant of marriage. Until the door is shut against every form of interference in the home, you cannot get the best of marriage.
However, to enjoy a blissful marriage as ordained by God, you must be born again. If you are not born again, please say this prayer: Dear Lord, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Now, I know I am born again!
Congratulations, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave or forsake you. With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace, in Jesus’ name! Please write or call to share your testimonies with me through oyedepofaitha@gmail.com OR 08141320204.
