MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR POSITION (2)
Dear Reader,
Welcome to another fulfilling time in God’s presence. Last time I showed you some qualities to possess to enable you make the most of your position as a wife. Today we shall continue by looking at how these qualities can be acquired.
Understand that these qualities don’t jump on people, they are acquired. So, if any of these is missing in your life, you must take practical steps to work on yourself until they are formed in you. Here are some of the avenues for acquiring them:
By Asking
If you require any of these qualities, the first thing you need to do is to ask from God. Jesus said: “He that asketh, recieveth” (Matthew 7:8) God is the giver. He will not withhold any good thing from you (Proverbs 3:27). How do you ask? You ask in prayer. Through prayer, you make your request known to God. Ask and believe you have received, nothing wavering; and you will receive the enabling to exhibit these qualities. God will not deny you, if you require it and ask Him; in faith and sincerity of your heart. Everyone that ‘asketh’, ‘recieveth’; that includes you. …no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly (Psalms 84:11)
Through Association
Your association doesn’t leave you the same. Relationships either add to you or take away from you. You reflect the company you keep. If your friend is the type who doesn’t reverence her husband; whose husband’s word don’t count in her ears and heart and whose instructions means nothing to her, before long you will follow her ways. The scripture says: Make no friendship with an angry; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: lest thou learn his ways and get a snare to thy soul (Proverbs 22:24-25) this simply shows that some things – qualities, character traits can be cultivated through friendships and associations. The bible also says: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise… (Proverbs 13:20.) You do not need to be a fool to be destroyed; you only need to keep company with a fool and you can’t escape destruction I pray that shall not be your portion in Jesus.
Look out for useful, meaningful associations through which you can acquire the qualities that you desire. I see God helping you sever all value eroding relationships in Jesus name.
The Holy spirit
The Holy Spirit is the power of God, your enabler; without Him, all your efforts to acquire these qualities will be in vain. Concerning this, the scripture says: But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you (Acts 1:8) To be able to exhibit these qualities, you need the power of the Holy Spirit. Power is defined as the ability to do work. For you to get the ability that is required to exhibit these qualities, you need the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is your enabler and energizer. Without the power of the Holy Spirit, you will be unable to put on these qualities, even though you know them. But when you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, you constantly put on spiritual energy by speaking in tongues and getting yourself built up so as to put these qualities to work. The Bible says: But ye beloved building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost (Jude verse 20) The more you speak in an unknown tongues, the more energized your spirit becomes and the easier it is for you to exhibit the qualities that you desire. You must remember that you are powerless without the Holy Ghost power. You must be baptized in the Holy Spirit.
The Holy spirit is only available to God’s children. To invite Jesus into your life and marriage? You need to be born again. This is done by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. if you desire to do so right now, please pray this prayer with faith in your heart: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me your child today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.
Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
