DOES JUDGEMENT DAY SCARE YOU?
My most recent season spent reading daily through the Bible Book of Revelation made great impact in me. Through the letters and the chapters, all I could sense was Christ. I felt Him holding my hand as I flipped through the pages, and I felt Him hold me by my shoulders and squeeze me in for big hugs at other times. I even felt myself laying on His chest and hearing His heartbeat. This consistently is my desire with God and interestingly, I felt it while also reading the Book of REVELATION- the Bible Book that scares Christians, the most.
So, if I may, let me ask you this question:
When you read or hear about judgement day, rapture, and the end times, what comes to your heart: fear or excitement?
This is a very critical question and I hope that you will be honest answering it, to yourself.
God can only work with the truth. He can work with you saying, “Lord, I’m a liar, a cheat, a fornicator, a thief, a molester, an adulterer, a broken man… I ask that You forgive me of my many sins and help me walk in Your ways. Become my Truth and help me grow in You.” God can work with that. He will wash you so clean that even you will know that your sins now are far away from you. He will heal your wounds: your brokenness, hurt, pain, worry-full heart, anxiety etc. He wants to do ALL that good for you and give you life. You may say, “but I already am alive! I am reading this book right now.”
Truth is, on your best days, you merely exist, if you don’t have Christ.
God says in Deuteronomy 30: 19 (NLT), “Today I have given you the choice between life and death… Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” Christ is the life that we live. It is because He is our life that we first are spirit beings. So without an active spirit, we are merely human-like zombies, walking to an unknown destination.
Any functioning adult living a blessed life would choose life over death and with the blessed opportunity that we have to live this life; I pray that you too, will choose life. I pray that you will choose life Himself. Also remember, your choices do not only affect you, they affect your descendants. So do you want a living generation or a zombie generation? The choice is yours, and it all begins with an honest heart.
Remember the Scripture we read only a little while ago? God said in Deuteronomy 30: 19,
“… CHOOSE life…”
So it’s all a matter of choice. God will never force Himself on you. He was so amazing to give to us a will (that is, the ability to make our own choices), when He created us. That’s true love at work. Could He have made us all robots, running around doing only what he tuned us to do for the day? Absolutely! Did he? No.
I tell you, there is absolutely no stronger love and trust than that. He trusted, hoped, and had faith enough in us that we would make the right choice. So, I pray today that we do make that right choice.
This journey to a life without fear begins with a life fully surrendered to Him. So, whether you have live most of your life within the walls of a church building or not, you still must say the Salvation prayer to begin this journey in God. Today is a good day to start. So, say these words after me: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. I can’t help myself. Forgive me of my sins. From today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me. Now, I know I am born again.”
