Peace and blessings, in Jesus name! God’s Word never runs out; they are ever fresh and meeting every need in time. Everyone with flesh has his/her weaknesses. This is not a curse, God created it so that we may be continually dependent on Him and His wisdom for life. However, God has prompted me to teach you that your weaknesses can become your strength, not the other way round. Therefore, sit tight and harness all that God has for you in this series, ‘Turn Your Weakness to Strength’.
What is Weakness?
According to the English dictionary, weakness means to be in a state of being weak, a disadvantage or a fault. It is important to note that as long as we are humans, there is no perfect human on earth; everyone is working towards improving on their supposed disadvantages and faults. Therefore, face your weaknesses; you cannot be good at everything because there are no superhuman. However, instead of it being a disadvantage, God can enable you outlive your weakness.
You can Live Above Your Weakness
God’s will is for you to walk before Him blameless and without any form of weakness. This practically means that you have no excuse for not succeeding in any part of your life. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 12:9, …My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. The above scripture rightly explained that God’s strength is made perfect in your weakness, which means you are not under the captivity of any weakness. It is possible to live above your weakness and flaws to have that life Christ destined for you.
Biblical Examples of Those who Lived Above Their Weaknesses
God does not seek for those who are somewhat perfect and does not need His help. God uses men who are seemly weak and full of flaws so that His name will be glorified. However, your weaknesses are proofs that God is sovereign and can make anything out of anyone.
- Moses: He was a man of fierce anger issues, a stammerer and also had records of murder, yet God chose him to convey the Israelites out of Egypt. God used him mightily to perform signs and wonders in Egypt. More so, Moses was and is the only man who saw God face to face while on earth and was given the raw mandate to write the first commandments, which stood as a stepping stone to many other commandments given to man by God.
- David: He was a teenager and the youngest of the children of Jesse. By appearance, he was so small and does not look like who should become king or who God should invest so much power, faith and boldness on to kill Goliath. However, he eventually became the strongest king Israel ever had. David also wrote half of the longest book of the Bible.
- Gideon: He was naturally a naive, timid and ignorant young fellow. The Bible first introduced him as a young man who was in hiding, and this depicts he was full of fear and anxiety (Judges 6:11). Even when God told him he was going to save Israel, he doubted and asked God for proof. God changed this fearful and timid young man to become a warrior and hero of faith.
God is not a respecter of persons; He can use any man anywhere to wrought miracles. He can turn your weakness into strength and make you the envy of many. Those who looked down on you and never saw anything good coming out of you will be astonished at the good things God will be doing in your life.
However, it is important to note that your weakness can never turn to strength without the supernatural force visiting and granting you grace, and this cannot be gotten without you giving your life to Christ. At redemption, all your weaknesses are perfected; they are turned to strength because the power of the Lord will come upon you. So, if you want to give your life to Christ and have all your weaknesses turned into strength, you can say this prayer of faith with me: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.
