UNDERSTANDING YOUR MULTI-DIMENSIONAL NATURE AS A WOMAN (2)
Dear Reader,
We have seen that God’s view about the nature of woman is good. It is to provide a helpmeet/wife for man, a mother to both spiritual and biological children, and a woman of substance to her family and the society at large. This week, as we conclude this series, I will be majoring on the dimensional nature of a woman, which I tagged, ‘A Home Maker!’ The primary duty of a homemaker is to make her home a delightful place for every member of the family.
The home should not be a place where the prevailing silence is due to the cold wars going on, dullness in the atmosphere or lukewarm attitude of each member towards the welfare of other family members. That is why the Lord gave a command through Paul saying, Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice (Philippians 4:4). I want you to know that happiness in your home; as a homemaker you bring out the best in your husband and children. A sorrowful heart is dangerous, and nothing good comes the way of the dejected. Beware! God’s Word says, Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee (Psalm 128:1-2). That is, happiness comes by fearing God, reverencing His voice via His Word, obeying His instructions and doing what He commands to be done. In other words, one of your multi-dimensional nature is to create an environment filled with happiness in the home. Make your home a delightful place for every member of the family.
I would like you to know that family success is possible, but it does not happen by chance. You must work for it if you desire it because nothing works until you work it! That is why God’s Word says, …every house is builded by some man… (Hebrews 3:4). You cannot build a house by merely wishing it, the same way you cannot have an exciting home except you work it out. You must take responsibility to make your home a delightful place to be. Whatever you make or fail to make of it is what it becomes.
On this note, I want to give you some spices for your home, which can be added to give your home an unusual glow that will amaze outsiders. One of such spices is ‘surprise gifts’. It is not good enough to say you do not know what your husband likes or what your children need. Giving is actually a way of expressing love. Likewise, it is a way of brightening up the atmosphere at home when it is dull. The element of surprises, which the gift stirs up, is enough to cause another honeymoon. The volume of what you give is not what matters here, but it is the expression of your care that really counts. In addition, it is not the amount of money spent that matters, but the kind thought behind it. Besides this, making a surprise celebration of important dates together creates excitement and brightens up your home as a homemaker. Days like: Christmas, New Year, birthdays, anniversaries and so on can be observed; even if the one celebrating it has forgotten, it will create a well of joy, respect, honour and love.
Also, as part of your multi-dimensional nature as a homemaker, spurring togetherness is another spice that adds glamour to your home. God’s Word says, … My Father worketh hitherto, and I work (John 5:17). Jesus was involved in His Father’s business, and they worked together. It showed the Son’s interest and concern in the Father’s business. Doing things together eradicates every dull moment in your home.
As a homemaker, your desires matters to God, and He delights in granting them. However, you cannot ask Him to grant the desires of your heart if you are not born again. Are you ready to become born again? Then say this prayer of faith: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.
Congratulations, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21). With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace in Jesus name! Call or write to share your testimonies with me through oyedepofaitha@gmail.com OR 08141320204.
