SINGLE AND SATISFIED (1)
Dear Reader,
This is the second half of the year; I am grateful to God for keeping you and I am convinced that He will never leave you nor forsake you. All your dreams, and visions for 2020 will manifest! God is dynamic and His miracles cannot be held down with time or the happenings around. The Bible in Galatians 6:9 reiterated that, …let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Nevertheless, it does not matter your present situation; the good news is that God whose you are and whom you serve will perfect all that concerns you, in Jesus name!
I am overly excited to bring you God’s Word today which I have titled: Single and Satisfied. Do you know you can be single yet satisfied? You can be in the waiting room for your miracle yet fulfilled and happy. Do not let the devil deceive you that your happiness as a single lady or man is tied in the hands of a certain person. If you are unable to leave a happy life as a single, marriage will neither make you happy.
What Does It Mean to Be Single and Satisfied?
The greatest myth amongst young singles is the assumption that marriage will meet every unmet need, satisfy all longings, solve all the problems faced in the single years, and help organise their unorganised life. Truthfully, marriage shows how efficient, cognitive and organised you are, when these beds are not made before entering into marriage, you will not make the most of it and maximise the purpose God created marriage.
So, to be single and satisfied means to always love and be comfortable with oneself, not needing someone to understand you, a company to make you feel safe or at peace, someone to complete you, or someone to take away negative and difficult feelings. To be single and satisfied does not mean waiting for someone, most especially an opposite sex to make you happy and comfortable with life.
Benefits of Your Single Years
Your single years are the prime time of your life when all you see ahead and all that bubbles within you is life. You spend more time married than single; however, the moment you have to spend as a single person should not be wasted or regretted. The season is a precious gift from God to equip and empower you for the better years to come; many people wish to recap their single years. Therefore, if you are still single, you are the luckiest because you still have time and opportunity to make your life according to the pattern of Christ.
Singleness comes with lots of benefits I will discuss below:
- It Improves Your Relationship with God: As a single lady/man, your single days is the best opportunity to devote yourself to God by building a sustainable relationship with Him. You find more time to spend with God and His Word. The Bible says, There is a difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband (1 Corinthians 7:34). This scripture did not imply that married people do not have time for God, rather their attention is often divided; however, the unmarried have more unabridged time to spend with God and the things of God.
- It Helps You Learn Financial Management: If you are able to manage your finances as a single, you will definitely know how to manage your finances in marriage. Money overtime has been one of the reasons many families break up and if you find out, most of them did not handle their personal finances prior to marriage; however, single days gives you a leverage to cultivate healthy financial strategies which could be beneficial in marriage.
- It Brings Out the Best in You: As a single, you have all the time to become all you ever wish to become without undue interferences unlike the married who has a lot to consider while making decisions. A married person while making decisions does not make decisions for him/herself alone; rather, he/she considers the welfare of his/her family (spouse and children). More so, you can greatly make innovations, pursue career, and vocations without undue interferences.
These are the very few mentioned benefits of one’s single days, if neglected may affect other aspects of life. Therefore, if you do not want to make a shipwreck of your marital destiny, you have to learn how to maximise your single days because it is the foundation of other phase of your life. Hence, your single days are certainly the most vital days of your life.
Consequently, true happiness comes from God and it is only in Jesus that you can find satisfaction. However, if you desire to go through your single years satisfied you have to accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour, by saying this prayer of faith: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You today as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today and grant me the spirit of supplication all the days of my life. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom!
Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible and pray daily, obey God’s Word, and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21). With this, you are guaranteed a glorious year ahead, in Jesus name!
