I am sure you are beginning to appreciate yourself more, because you can see who you really are fashioned from God’s love. In this second edition of the teaching series for this month, I shall be teaching on Your Uniqueness!
This Bible says: I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well (Psalm 139:14, NIV). This verse emphasizes that when God made you, He made you His very best.
You are not just a common being, but you are specifically created for a purpose. Though some individuals like your mother, father, relatives, friends, teachers, etc might have passed some disappointing comments about you, but your value from God’s Word cannot be taken away based on the opinion of others. So, don’t let the words of people ruin you.
Need I remind you that since the moment of your conception, your life has been precious and important. He calls you beloved (3 John 2). God made you for His pleasure. Hence, you are practically created for His glory. So, even in small areas, make sure you are representing God in a great way.
God created you in His image and likeness. Regardless of whatever lie the devil tells you. You are perfectly made in God’s likeness. God made NO mistakes when you were created (James 4:7).
As a teenager, wherever you find yourself, be the “you” God created you to be. Carry the consciousness that Jesus is right in and with you. Never see yourself as a failure. Don’t ever wish you were different from who you are, irrespective of the situation you might be passing through. It is just a transient stage. You have a glorious and enviable destiny.
Cultivate the attitude of appreciating God that He created you who you are (Revelations 4:11). God calls you His precious sons and daughters. No matter how hard you try to change your outward appearance in order to gain love and acceptance, it still doesn’t change who you are.
Appreciating God for your uniqueness actually boosts your sense of self-worth. This is one fundamental issue that runs through the minds of young people – lack of a proper understanding of their worth or importance. This explains why many young people look to the wrong sources for acceptance, help, comfort or counsel. Some even choose the wrong profession, all in an attempt to cover up. Others get involved in all manner of vices such as occultism, drugs, wrong relationships and the like, seeking from external sources something which is actually locked within them.
The Bible says: Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us… (II Corinthians 2:20). To a large extent, the way you carry and comport yourself affects your worth and acceptance.
Do you know that the way you walk says a lot about your person? Those slumped shoulders and dragging of your feet are reflective of your mood! If you are insecure for example, you will walk provocatively. Are you moody, feeling heavy and frustrated? Begin to take note; you will discover how much this reflects in your carriage and comportment.
Therefore, to enhance your worth and importance, you must, first of all, learn how to carry and comport yourself appropriately. Restructure your walk to match, and reflect God’s description of you as His ambassador.
Learn to walk tall! Walk straight! Walk smartly, not sluggishly! When you walk from henceforth, lift up your head and straighten your shoulders! Walk with honour and dignity. As you do, you will be maximizing the grace of God upon your life, distinguishing yourself as God’s own.
I guarantee you, this will automatically affect your worth and acceptance! This will also be a rich investment into your future life. It will be dividend that you will keep drawing from as long as you live, as it is in mine!
Having a proper understanding of your worth and importance, begins with a life in Christ. This entails confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. In case you are not yet born again you should say this prayer in faith: Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me. Now I know I am born again!
Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary. All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name! Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through firstname.lastname@example.org, OR call 07026385437 and 08141320204.
