WORD FOR TODAY

The Weapon of Prayer

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds ” -2 Corinthians 10:4-

I can remember a popular song often sung by children, most especially during the Sunday school lessons,

“Prayer is the master’s key, prayer is the key, prayer is the master key, Jesus started with prayer and ended with prayer, prayer is the master key.”

This emphasizes on the importance of prayer and Jesus showed a perfect example of a prayerful life, no wonder he was able to triumph over the devil; however as Christians, an effective prayer life is not a negotiation but a must, because prayer is a vital weapon for triumphant living.

The anchor scripture already said that the weapon of our warfare is not carnal, that is to say, you don’t fight spiritual matters, by merely pushing them away or avoiding them, you fight spiritual battle through prayers because you wrestle against principalities and powers and apparently, the devil is always daring the faith of any Christian, but a prayer of faith guarantees victory.

Absolutely, there is no substitute or software for prayer as my husband Bishop David Oyedepo will always say, if you want to leave a triumphant live and enjoy rest on all facets of your life, then prayer should be taken as a priority in your life. Pray for your daily walk with Christ, prayer for the church of Christ, family and friends, and any other issue of concern, because you will never know when that tempting situation would come. Prayerfully order and monitor our ways and destiny, so you wouldn’t have to pay direly for your negligence tomorrow.

Understand that God acts in our affairs only in response to our prayers. A wise man asked: “If the success of the church, your family and friends, is dependent on your prayer, how successful will they be?” Think about that and take up the challenge today, because no one can do it for you. Commit continuously every aspect of your life to God’s hand and just enjoy the rest you derive from doing that. You will never know stress in your family in the name of Jesus Christ! Remember, you cannot build a sustainable prayer life without having Jesus as the lord of your life, he alone empowers one to pray, therefore you have to accept Jesus as your Lord and Personal Saviour, if you have made this decision you can say this prayer of faith.

Father, I realise that I have been a sinner. Today I believe you died and rose on the third day redeeming me from all my sins. Now I accept lord save me and accept me as your child, write my name in the book of like. Thank you Father for saving me in Jesus’ Name.

Congratulations You are now a child of God, and have been connected to the all sufficient grace that empowers one to build a sustainable prayer life. You can call or write and share your testimonies with me via oyedepofaitha@gmail.com or 07026385437 and 08141320204.

WORD FOR TODAY

SERVING WITH A PERFECT HEART

“And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart.”

2 Chronicles 25:2

Have you ever wondered how king Amaziah did what was right before God, but not with a perfect heart? I have! Whenever I read this chapter in the Bible, I often wonder how he could be right in all his dealings as a king, rendering his kingly services according to all that the Lord commanded them, and his heart still was not right with God.

This shows that oftentimes, it is not what you do that matters most, but your connectivity, motive and attitude towards your service to God. There are times when you see people render Kingdom services or help to someone and you feel that person does what he or she is doing so perfectly, and you even tend to compare yourself, wishing you could be more like that person. You may even wonder why those people have not received visible rewards with all the energy, time and effort they put into service. I have come to realise that most of the time it is not in all the busyness, but the state of your mind or heart.

Service to God is essentially a matter of the heart. When your thoughts, intentions and motives are right, then only does your service become acceptable. There are people that render lip or eye service. They tend to be very energetic around others, but when those watchful eyes are gone, they revert to their “true” selves. Some have a habit of complaining and even tend to curse in their heart. Yes, they might be doing what is right but because their hearts are not right, it may not count for them as a quality service unto God.

Today, I want you to turn a new leaf, and re-examine your heart towards the service of God. However, as you seek to serve God in all areas of your life, make your service right in the sight of God by engaging a perfect heart: one void of complains, vain compliments, eye service, vain rewards, or fame. Commit the Holy Spirit to help you achieve your desire for a perfect service and as you do, your rewards will not elude you in Jesus name.

For you to render an acceptable service to God, you have to build a stable relationship with Him, seek to make Jesus the Lord over the affairs of your life and accept Him as the Saviour of your life. If you have made this decision say this prayer with me in faith:

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace in Jesus’ Name! Call or write to share your testimonies with me through oyedepofaitha@gmail.com, 07026385437 OR 08141320204.

Constant Evaluation

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves…” (2 Corinthians 13:5)

Welcome to this wonderful New Year, this is a year God has ordained to make life beautiful for you. For you to align with God’s will for you this year, you should make it a constant habit to evaluate yourself. Just as an auditor who works in an audit or accounting firm, you will know that you are required to look at your work over and again before final submission. Especially when you write for an external audience, or audit a firm outside your jurisdiction, you understand that there exists zero tolerance for errors.

One little error can change the meaning or analysis of your work and cause your credibility to be altered, So it is with life in general. As Christians, in the process of becoming who God has appointed you to be this year, there is a need to constantly evaluate yourself to be sure you are on the right track. Examine your character, work, relationships, values and conduct.

Although, there might be areas in which you can boldly say you are doing well, you might have also gotten applauds and credits from people for your attitude or composure. Nevertheless, deep within you know, that there is need to improve so as to align with God’s standard for you.

In other to attain the height God has ordained for you this year, there is an urgent need for self-evaluation. You can begin by asking yourself genuine questions concerning the various aspects of your life such as; Are there areas I need to improve, am I taking the right steps, hanging around the right company, performing the right tasks and basically am I on the right path to my destiny. If not, then you must make amends.

More so, you can have personal appraisal journal, write and evaluate your visions and dreams, your strength and weaknesses, your achievements over the previous years, your relationship with God and man alike,  be genuine to write done the areas that needs to be adjusted, changed and amended. In addition, go to God in Prayer and seek his help and guidance, however do not rule out to seek godly counsels in areas you need to improve because the bible admonished in Proverbs 11:14 “where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. However, note that your checks aren’t just to occur once; you must constantly conduct self- evaluation to be sure you are still in line and have improved from the last time you checked. Your constant evaluation and adjustments brings you to the path of perfection. You will not miss it in the name of Jesus!

Remain Blessed!

GIVEN TO SERVICE

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”

-1 Peter 2:9-

As a minister’s wife, you are peculiar- very important, special, unusual, positively strange, and uniquely favoured by God. You occupy a very distinct position and have been given the grace to carry out effectively your task as assigned by God. You should know that God does not make mistakes and for every position He places you, you have been endowed with divine capacity to function maximally.

However, many times, we may feel that we have put in too much and have reaped little, or that people don’t appreciate the effort we are putting into this wonderful office given to us. Some might even think they are not accorded the same respect as their husbands, despite all their efforts in Kingdom service. You should know that you are not called into a competition, neither are you there to outdo another.

Your calling is by divine privilege, and you have been called to service. Being a minister’s wife is service and Jesus said: “There is no man that has truly given up everything that would not gain much more in eternity.”  So, don’t be afraid to give your all and your best in promoting God’s Kingdom.

Remember, everyone will be rewarded according to her labour. Therefore, labour abundantly in the Word, in prayers, in giving, evangelism, and every form of service as you are called to per time. Watch how God increases you mightily. You will not miss your rewards in the name of Jesus!

Remain Blessed!

GOD STILL WORKS MIRACLES TODAY

Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men. he turned the sea into dry land; they went through the flood on foot; there did we rejoice in him. PSALMS 66: 5-6

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines “miracle” as “an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.” God has a miracle plan for you, prepared from the foundation of the world. Even the creation of the world and everything in it is a clear reminder of that God has miracle plans for us. Our creation is a miracle, it is still unfathomable the relationship between how a woman conceives, how a baby grows in the womb of a woman and the mystery behind her bringing forth a child. See how Ecclesiastics 11:5 illustrates this fact; As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.

Indeed, God still works miracles today the nature of the circumstance notwithstanding.  Just as our anchor scripture described how God parted waters for the Israelite to walk on dry land so is God parting ways for you even in that wilderness circumstance in Jesus’ name amen. Though the circumstances may have placed you between walls of water the psalmist invites you to believe in God and rejoice with the confidence that He is in the midst of the storm. God’s outstretched hands of miracle can only be seen manifesting in your life when you begin to see your life as a miracle with gripping and intense worship to God at all times despite any challenge you may be facing.

Philippians 4:4 admonished Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Rejoice that you are going to make it all the way through, just as the people of old did, because what God started He will also complete until the day Jesus comes.  Rejoice with the assurance that the power that brought you through the waters is also the power that will destroy the enemy of your soul and through God you will overcome them all.

Have you lost hope in God and it seems miracles are far-fetched? Have you exempted yourself from the plans of God for you because of the temporary situations you may have found yourself? You may be thinking that your life does not appear to be as miraculous as waters standing up vertically like walls. You might be tempted to consider your life is completely ordinary and unremarkable. It can only take the miraculous power of God to intervene in your life-to encourage, protect and keep you saved. However, do you desire to see the miracle working power of God at work in your life? If yes, then you need to begin with turning to Jesus. Ask Him into your heart, to introduce you to His new life. Make Him your Savior and Lord, if you have made this decision you can make this prayer now

Father, I realise that I have been a sinner. Today I believe you died and rose on the third day redeeming me from all my sins. Now I accept you lord save me and accept me as your child, write my name in the book of like. Thank you Father for saving me in Jesus’ Name.

Congratulations You are now a child of God, from today onward the miracle working power of God will begin to work supernatural wonders for you in Jesus Name Amen. You can call or write and share your testimonies with me via contact@faithoyedepo.org or 07026385437 and 08141320204.

HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU!

And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

The grace of God is the maker of men and anyone who finds grace with God will surely be made, the devil notwithstanding. You must understand that God has made adequate provision for His grace to be abundant for you and when the grace of God is actively at work in your life, there is no limit to your breakthroughs.

Every great destiny has its root in the grace of God! For sure, I know it is your desire to be made, and for you to amount to something in life; but this cannot be achieved without His grace.

God’s grace is required to make you who and what He has created you to be and to  attain God’s ultimate plan for your life, you must never lose sight of His grace, because that is what will sustain you.

Whatever you have achieved today is by the grace of God. Therefore, you must constantly acknowledge, appreciate and attribute all, to the sufficient grace of God. Appropriating the sufficiency of God’s grace makes you bold and yet humble, because you are fully aware that your eternal standing before God is not based on what you do, but primarily on whose you are.

To be a full partaker of the sufficient grace of God; you must accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. You can take that bold step of faith and say this prayer:

Father, I realise that I am a sinner. Today I believe you died and rose on the third day redeeming me from all my sins. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. I am now your child, write my name in the book of like. Thank you Father for saving me in Jesus’ Name.

Congratulations, you are now a child of God; you are now connected to the all-sufficient grace of God that never runs dry in Jesus Name Amen. You can call or write and share your testimonies with me via contact@faithoyedepo.org or 07026385437 and 08141320204.

WINNING HOPE

And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that that we should be saved was then taken away.

 Acts 27:20

Sometimes, there are situations when people desire something, but lack the corresponding expectation: the result is often despair or despondency. For instance, the scripture above implies that if you truly have hope, there must be an expressed desire, coupled with an expectation for the fulfillment of the same.

Hope can be lost at some point in life! have you lost hope concerning any aspect of your life? The good news is: it can and will be supernaturally recovered in Jesus’ name!

A wise man once likened Hope to the light in a dark tunnel, doubtlessly to be hopeless is to be in darkness. My Husband Bishop David Oyedepo rightly said, “what you don’t expect you are not permitted to experience.”

With hope, you want something so eagerly that even when it looks like it is not coming, you don’t give up; you keep on expecting. This is the Abraham kind of Hope. It feels the invisible, sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and eventually achieves the impossible.

However, hope can never come alive without Jesus because he alone can rekindle our hope. The only condition to have your hope boosted is when you accept Jesus as your lord and personal saviour. Having known this truth, you can now say this prayer of salvation.

Father, I realise that I have been a sinner. Today I believe you died and rose on the third day redeeming me from all my sins. Now I accept you, lord save me and accept me as your child, write my name in the book of life. Thank you Father for saving me in Jesus’ Name.

Congratulations You are now a child of God, you will continue to experience peace and all round settlement in Jesus Name Amen. You can call or write and share your testimonies with me via contact@faithoyedepo.org or 07026385437 and 08141320204.
