WISDOM PRESERVES (2)
Last week we started a teaching titled: Wisdom Preserves! We discovered how invaluable wisdom is, where it comes from and how it can be gotten. Today, I shall continue in this series by examining areas to exhibit wisdom:
Let me start by saying that wisdom is critical to every area of life. However, we shall consider 2 major areas:
- Exercise wisdom in your words
Speaking the right word at the right time is wisdom. Your words can either build you up or tear you down. As a woman and mother, the words that proceed out of your mouth should be likened to the way the porter handles the clay. Be selective, careful and deliberate in your choice of words. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man (Colossians 4:6). 1 Timothy 5:1-2 shows us how to exercise wisdom in our words. How not to rebuke an elderly man, but to entreat him as a father. How to treat older women as mothers, younger men as brothers and younger women as sisters in all purity. If we speak to everyone the same way, it is foolishness. Your husband, children, relatives, colleagues, friends etc. should be able to draw wisdom and strength from your words. Don’t be the kind of woman that everybody avoids. Be wise!
- Exercise wisdom in doing your duties
As a wife and mother, you must understand your duties in the home. The position of the man as the head is unquestionable. When a wife allows her husband to fulfil his covenant role of headship, she has automatically given him room to play his messianic role over her. It is your duty as a wife to submit. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. (Ephesians 5:22) Submit to your husband in love, that is wisdom and this will bring God’s presence in your home.
It is your duty to reverence your husband. That is, to make his instructions count in your ears and matter to your heart. Success in marriage doesn’t answer to prayer and fasting but to correct positioning in the covenant.
Woman, you have a major responsibility of building your home. Do not be idle, going from house to house gossiping and doing busybody in other men’s matters. Instead, you should face and perform your duties properly. Exercising wisdom in doing your duty in the home is one of the secrets to a peaceful, blissful restful and fulfilling family life. Get wisdom, it will preserve your life!
Do you wish to enjoy a fulfilling family life, then you have to invite Jesus into your marriage? You need to be born again. This is done by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. If you are already born again, rejoice because your case is settled. If you are not yet born again and you desire to do so right now, please pray this prayer with faith in your heart: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.
Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace in Jesus’ Name! Call or write to share your testimonies with me through firstname.lastname@example.org, 07026385437 OR 08141320204.
