What an awesome privilege to reach out to you on this platform. Indeed, God is too faithful to fail! Many years ago, my husband, Dr. David O. Oyedepo made a very powerful statement. He said: “20 children don’t play together for 20 years.” This statement penetrated my being, and with time, I found out that it is very true!
During my childhood days, I had some friends while I was in primary school. However, today, I do not know the whereabouts of most of them. I know it is so with you also. But I have discovered one of the forces that distinguish an individual from the rest of his peer is the power of choice. That is why this month, I will be exposing you to the title: The Weapon of Choice.
No matter how long you live on earth, your life span is broken down into a time-frame of years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds. Consequently, whatever your assignment on earth is, you don’t have eternity to accomplish it. That is why you need to make the right choices per time, so you don’t waste the limited time you have. The Bible says:
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom (Psalms 90:12).
And one of the most powerful wisdom you need is the wisdom to make right and positive choices. It is written:
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: (Deuteronomy 30:19)
You need to learn to apply your heart to choose the right things according to the different seasons of your life. Whether you realise it or not, you make choices everyday and these in turn affect your daily living and how much impact you ever make. So, your impact in life largely depends on how well you effectively exercise your power to choice.
But, what then is choice?
Choice is the power and privilege of free selection; careful selection without compulsion and after due consideration. It is the act of selecting the best part or alternative. The fact that choice is the act of selecting shows that there are alternatives or option. This means that to make a good choice, you need the wisdom to discern what’s best for you. This is where people miss it. It’s not like they don’t make choices, but they don’t make the right choice for their lives.
There are fundamental truths about choice making and a good understanding of it will help you make the most of it.
Why do we make choices?
Our individual choices distinguish one person from another. Every step of your journey through life requires that you make a choice. However, the greatest choice a man can ever make is the choice of salvation. Choosing to be saved and live solely for Christ guarantees your choosing right in other areas of your life.
Therefore, if you have not done so, or may have walked away from your choice to make God a priority in your life, you can do so by just saying this prayer in faith.
Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me. Now I know I am born again!
Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary.
