THE VALUE OF INTEGRITY

Dear Reader,

I congratulate you for making it this far in this glorious year! I bless the name of the Lord for your life and His preservation towards you; indeed, He that has kept you will be with you till the end in the name of Jesus Christ!

It is a privilege to go through this journey of teachings with you. We have learnt so much this year, and the aim is to prepare you for that glorious future God has in store for you. However, all you have learnt will be incomplete if you don’t acquire key virtues that will sustain your being at the top. One of these virtues is integrity. This month, I will be discussing with you on: The Value of Integrity.

Integrity can be defined as the quality of being honest and having strong, moral principles. It is a level of morality that you maintain no matter what happens around you. Without any doubt, integrity is a must for anyone who desires to become a person of influence. The Bible says:

The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them (Proverbs 11:3).

Integrity can also be seen as a high standard of honesty, truthfulness, decency, and honour that is never breached. To therefore live a life of integrity, certain building blocks must be in place. Some of these include:

  • Righteousness: Everyone who must walk in integrity must first walk in righteousness. A righteous life is the foundation to a path of truth and honesty. However, the issue of righteousness is something you need to be awake to, spirit, soul and body. It is written:

Awake to righteousness, and sin not… (1 Corinthians 15:34).

As a child of God, you must walk towards living a righteous life. Separate yourself from lying, stealing, covetousness, backbiting, etc. If you don’t want your destiny to sink, you have to do away with every form of unrighteousness.

  • Willingness: To live in integrity, inspite of the prevailing corruption all around, you must possess a willing heart. You must be willing to defer the negative things that others think, do or say and stand on the truth no matter what.

Your will, either strong or weak, is responsible for the level of integrity you walk in. That is why a man’s will is one of the most powerful forces that drive him towards his goals.

You will be amazed at the results you make and how much impact you will have on the world when you are determined to embrace a life of integrity. People will begin to reckon with you because they know for certain that you can be trusted.

  • Scriptural Thinking: A life of integrity has to do with what goes on in your mind. A corrupt mind cannot live a pure life. The Bible says: Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled (Titus 1:15).

Your thought defines your living! If your life must count as a man or a woman of integrity, you must renew your mind with God’s Word (Romans 12:2). The truth is a man is what he thinks, so from now on you must pattern your thoughts towards the kind of person you want to be. Think right, live right!

  • Your Words: What you say and how you speak goes a long way in telling others who you are. That is why the Bible says: Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof (Proverbs 18:21).

There are people who others don’t love to be around, because they do not have right words coming from their mouths. Their words are like swords, dividing in pieces all they meet. Don’t be like that! From today, may God anoint your tongue with coals of fire so that impure words will not come out of it in the name of Jesus Christ!

  • Your Association: The kind of people you hang around with determine your level of integrity. From your association, you feed your mind with either good or evil words and that affects the way you live your life. The Bible says:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful (Psalms 1:1).

Therefore, as a man or a woman who wants to live a life of integrity, you must choose to walk with godly people. When you do that, you gain the trust, respect and honour of others. I pray for grace and wisdom for you to do all of these in Jesus name!

A life of integrity, however, begins with making Jesus Christ Lord and Saviour of your life. Jesus is the only way, truth and life, therefore to walk in the truth you must first accept Him as Lord over your life. If you have not done this, or may have backslide, then you should say this prayer in faith right away:

Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me.  Now I know I am born again!

Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary. All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name!  Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org, OR call 07026385437 and 08141320204.
