“The problem with the anointed is, they trust only in their anointing. With the rich, they trust in their riches, and with the wise, they trust in their wisdom. Until you understand that blessedness is in God and God alone, your gifts may never be enough to open doors for you” – Bishop David Oyedepo.
Everything we are privileged to have, is but by the grace of God. Until we understand that we are forever indebted to God and we OWE him ALL the thanks, we will never get to fully enjoy the blessings He has in store for us.
The Book of I Chronicles 29:11-14 says: Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.
From the above scripture, we see what David’s thoughts were, on our indebtedness to God and the benefits of worshiping God. David and his people clearly understood God, as the source of all blessings, also meaning that worshiping Him meant access to ALL. Without a clear understanding of this fact, our blessings remain limited, as God who remains the Source is in charge of determining what each one’s portion would be.
Just as everyone of us determines what gifts to give to what friends at what time, without fear of being questioned, it is the same with God.
As our father, He wants us to lack absolutely nothing, but at the same time, He gives us a portion just as everyone of His other children. Worshiping him though, that is doing the one thing He cannot do for Himself, pushes Him to bless us with the things that we NEVER would be able to do for ourselves. He blesses us with the undeniable but indescribable blessings of His Kingdom.
Psalm 71:21 says: Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
We clearly see that blessings are in levels. Greatness is also in levels hence, we never fully reach the ultimate. We grow in blessings as we grow closer to God, even through worship.
We all are, simply, beneficiaries of the goodness of God and absolutely nothing more! This is the understanding which we must have it is the first step in making any progress in a successful and productive life with God.
However, enjoying divine blessing is the privilege of those born again. The question is: Are you born again? You get born again by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.
If you are set for this new birth experience, please say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You Today. I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan to serve the Living God. From today, I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me. Now, I know I am born again!
Congratulations! Till I come your way next time, please call or write, and share your testimonies with me through
