I want to invite you once again to the world of the best, and to remind you that there is a seed of greatness inside you. Therefore, you must arise and shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1). Let’s take a look at “The Reward of Purity” as teenagers.
Purity is defined by Cambridge Advanced Learner’s Dictionary as “The state of not being mixed with anything else … or when something is clean or free from harmful substances.” In biblical context, purity simply means to be pure, to be without blemish, stain (sin) within and without.
Areas of Purity
There are three major areas of purity: Thoughts, Words and Actions. The Word of God says: Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer (Psalm 19:14). These three are interconnected, but separate.
This is like the seed you sow; it has to do with the content of your heart. Your heart is the fuel tank of your life; the issues of purity in your life come from your heart. The Bible in Proverbs 4:23 says: Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
As invisible as your thoughts are, they are so powerful that they define your living! If you carry stinking thoughts, you will definitely live a stinking life. In other words, your thoughts determine your living.
Your life is a product of your thoughts. The clothes you have on you right now are a product of your previous thoughts. Perhaps since last night, if you select clothes in advance like me, you went through your closet and made a selection of what to wear today. Everything in your life is a product of your thoughts.
Therefore, to secure your future, you must tame your thoughts and tailor them in the desired direction. This is crucial because your life will follow the direction of your dominant thoughts. Little wonder then that the Bible warns in Proverbs 23:7: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…
Your thought needs to be tamed. The devil will always bring his ideas to you, so sanitize your thoughts. Refuse to accommodate stinking, wild, negative or anti-glorious thoughts! (2 Corinthians 10:3-5); rather, focus on the positive things of life. “But how do I sanitize my thoughts?” you may ask. The following hints will be helpful:
Your word is your bond; it speaks of who you are and who is inside you. The Bible says in Proverbs 17:27: A man of knowledge uses words with restraint, and a man of understanding is even-tempered (NIV). Beware of what you say! Words are seeds and when you sow them, you reap them. Mark 11:23 says: …He shall have whatsoever he saith.
Your words determine your worth. What you say determines what you have, either positive or negative. In the same vein, your words determine your world. So, you can frame your world with your words.
What you declare today determines what will be delivered to you in future. What you say sets a pace for what you see. Listen carefully, your words either spare or snare you; the choice is yours! Speak the Scripture into your future and no devil will be able to stop it from coming to pass. Proverbs 6:2 says: Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.
Your mouth determines your making. You will make it! This is one major principle I leant during the period when the devil attacked my body. During that time, negative thoughts always flooded my mind. I learnt to fight negative thoughts with words, then with thoughts. I learnt to watch my words, never allowing negative words come out of my mouth. Rather, I kept speaking by faith, what the scriptures have declared about my total deliverance and rescue. I kept speaking life-changing words, and slowly but surely, my circumstances began to change for the better, until my total rescue was manifested.
What you say is final, no matter what the devil or people say. What do you say about your future?
Your relationship with God is what informs what you think or say. Until you are born again, you cannot seek God and search for Him whole-heartedly. You get born again by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. If you are set to be born again, please say this simple prayer of faith with me: “Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”
If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, congratulations, you are born again! You are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
