THE PRAYING WOMAN (2)

THE PRAYING WOMAN (2)

Dear Reader,

God is always eager to give you His Word at all times, His Word comes to empower you and ensure that you align with His will and purpose for you. I am privileged to be a vessel to get the Word of God across to you. Today, I will be teaching a continuation of the series The Praying Woman, second edition Why should I Pray? I know you will grab all that God has for you, in Jesus name!

Many are stuck with the questions like why should I pray, I have a ‘happy’ and ‘blissful’ home and there is no need for me to keep up at night or any other time to pray, I want to bring to your knowledge what the Bible says in Matthew 13:25, But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. Consequently, you have to deter the devil to gain control over your family, destiny and all that God put on your inside for your generation will not be lost to carelessness, in Jesus name! There are several other reasons you must pray as a woman, they are as follows:

 For Warfare

If you learn how to handle issues of life effectively on the altar of prayer, it becomes easy to enjoy a greater level of honour, virtue, glory and dignity. Before anything can manifest in the natural, it must have been produced in the spiritual. You need to take charge in the spiritual world before anything can manifest in the physical world. The Bible tells us that the things we see in the physical world are controlled in the spiritual realm and our weapon of control is prayer. No matter how you envisioned to have a peaceful and hitch-free marriage and home, it will be impossible to realise that goal without a balanced prayer life. As a mother, there should be a new awakening towards the importance of prayer. There are spiritual battles that mere human efforts can never fight except with prayer. I know that motherhood and caring for a family is quite a task and many get carried away with so many chores without seeking to separate a little time to intercede for their family. I have come to encourage you today, create time to settle the issues of your family on the altar of prayer; I fight through prayer on my knees and I can boast all to the glory of God that I have never lost any battle to the enemy not even for once and you too will never lose any battle to the devil, in Jesus name!

For Impact

A woman is created by God to impact her world and this starts from the family, her husband, children, relatives, neighbours , the Church of God, career, business, and the world at large. This should be the goal of every woman. Each one of us carry influence on our inside  and everyone that comes in contact with us should be impacted, but this can never be achieved by mere dependence on the physical. For instance, God orders your steps to things that you would naturally struggle to do in 10 hours, He shows you how to go about them in 30 minutes, arriving at a perfect conclusion. Stop struggling with circumstances of life; God has called you to life of dignity, glory, virtue and honour, but it only comes by making use of the instrument of prayer.

Taking a look at examples of men in scriptures, who made a landmark in their respective fields of endeavour, one would notice that they had a record of being women of prayer. Esther who was faced with a devastating situation turned to God in prayer calling a solemn assembly of all Jews seeking His intervention and justice and she got her answer. The wisdom to get to the king and get the enemy off the way was revealed to her on the altar of prayer.

Hannah who was believing God for miracle children became a joyful mother of children because of an encounter she had with God and the words of His prophet Eli.

Deborah was a great judge in Judah because she always sort God’s guidance through prayer. She exhumed great wisdom that she was known for extraordinary wisdom, she was a mother, wife and yet she succeeded in her career too.

I want to challenge you, there is no excuse for you not been able to seek God wholeheartedly on the altar of prayer. All you need to get all your needs met, succeed in marriage, business, and career etc., is stocked up on the altar of prayer, do well to pull your own package because God is always eager to give so long as you ask Him (John 14:13-14).

For Spiritual Growth

As a mother, wife, and grandmother, your spiritual growth will tell off on your children because they learn more from you than their father, they get to spend more time with you. Likewise, if you want them to grow spiritually, you will teach them how to pray aright, the types of prayer and rules governing each type of prayer. For instance, there is the prayer of adoration, which is prayer focused on God’s goodness and then there is also the prayer of agreement, which involves two or more people asking for something in unity of purpose, as well as other types of prayer. Somebody once said ‘daily prayers will diminish your cares’, therefore, introduce them to their heavenly Father and teach them to talk to Him daily explaining to them that prayer is a means of communicating with Him.

For Spiritual Exercise

It is now a new trend among women to keep fit through bodily exercises which is profitable to the health, however, most importantly, for you to stay fit in that mother, wife, and grandmother role you have to engage in spiritual exercises too. 1 Timothy 4:8 says, For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Prayer is not optional, it is obligatory learn to pray in your understanding as well as in the Spirit. This is because …the spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26).

Your prayer life must go beyond the level of asking for things to interceding for persons in need. You cannot be fervent spiritually until you can pray fervently remember (James 5:16).

Only those who know the secret of how to kneel before God in prayer succeed to stand tall before men. Truly, prayer changes things! The good news is both prayer and fasting carry open undeniable rewards both here on earth and eternally in heaven. Notice the phrase …thy father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly (Matthew 6:6, 18). What a joy if you have been engaging in these spiritual exercises on a regular basis. However, it is not too late for you to start right now, in order not to miss out.

Adopt fasting coupled with prayers and a continuous search of the scriptures because outside the Word of God, your fasting and prayer will be barren and cannot produce result. So, your prayer must be Word- based; so also your fasting must be covered by scriptural provisions. Truth is: there is a certain level of spiritual fervency that you cannot attain unto until you begin to engage in the spiritual exercise of prayer and fasting (Mathew 17:21).

God is the only energiser to have a quality prayer life and the Holy Spirit is always there to help us, but you can’t have access to His grace if you are not connected to Jesus the channel which every prayer is answered. For you to have access to Jesus, you have to accept Him as your Lord and personal Saviour, if you have made this decision, you can say this simple prayer of faith:

Father, I realise that I have been a sinner. Today I believe You died and rose on the third day redeeming me from all my sins. Now I accept You Lord, save me and accept me as Your child, write my name in the book of like. Thank You Father for saving me, in Jesus name!

Congratulations! You are now a child of God, and have been connected to the all sufficient grace of God that fuels one’s prayer life. You can call or write to share your testimonies with me via oyedepofaitha@gmail.com, 07026385437 OR 08141320204.
