Happy new month to you! I believe great and wonderful experiences have begun in your life already. Indeed, this year shall be much more fruitful for you and when others are saying there is a casting down, for you it shall be unending liftings.
This month, I shall be discussing with you a very crucial topic that will guarantee your financial stability. It is titled: Taking Financial Responsibility. Many young people wish to be rich and comfortable, but not many wants to take the responsibility for it. Some others feel that because they are young and single with no one to cater for, the subject of financial responsibility does not accrue to them. However, they are wrong.
Financial responsibility entails taking adequate and planned steps to secure a good financial future. The truth is: singles and youth need more financial skills than the old. Youths need to be more financially responsible because they have to face every financial challenge on their own. Your financial future is dependent on how responsible you are with money handling today. The Bible says:
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? (Luke 16:10-11)
Studies show that many singles spend more of their income on food, clothes and entertainment. While these are not bad in themselves, addictions to these things drain your income. You must be able to control your day-to-day spending and this should be on a basis of priority.
Everyone needs financial management education and the best time to learn is while you are still young and single. You must be able to control the daily out flow of your income and that comes with great responsibility. However, there are some basic money management techniques that enhance financial responsibility. They include:
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God (Romans 14:12).
One way to be adequately accountable is to keep record of all your spending. Learn to keep record of all your income as well as your expenditure and they should be reviewed from time-to-time. For instance, I have this little book that I carry along with me to record my daily expenses. That way, at the end of the month, I can recollect and evaluate my spending for the month. You too can do that!
The truth is, accountability usually pays off. The Bible says: …thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord (Matthew 25:21).
Budgeting also enhances your ability to live within your means. If you spend beyond your means, you will be in debt and this is what has led so many people into serious challenges and even suicide.
Everyone must learn the secret of contentment and live within their means. That way, your living will be enhanced positively. Remember the Bible says: But godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6).
However, to gain adequate strength for a consistent life of accountability and budgeting, you need to be born again. This means to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour of your life, by confessing and forsaking your sins. Therefore, if you have not done that or you might have probably walked away from the vow you made to Him in the past, you should say this prayer in faith right away:
Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me. Now I know I am born again!
Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary. All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name!
