I congratulate you for being a regular reader of the articles on this page. It is my earnest prayer that you will not just be a reader alone, but doer of God’s Word written therein, so that you will be a partaker of the blessings in them.
From the last article, you should be walking in the reality of your glorious future in Christ! You understand how colourful your future is and that you need to partner with God to realise a fulfilling destiny. However, to accept responsibility to partner with God require that you take some covenant steps. We shall be examining some of them here:
Tame your Thoughts: Everyone’s future is limited by his thoughts. The Bible says: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he… (Proverbs 23:7). As invisible as your thoughts are, they are so powerful that they define your living. If you bear negative thoughts, you will definitely live a negative life. Your thought pattern plays a major role in the decisions you make.
To secure your future therefore, you must tame your thoughts and tailor it in the right direction. That is why the Bible says that the things which are seen were not made of things which do appear (Hebrews 11:3). I can tell you that what and where you are right now is a product of what you saw through your mind – your thoughts. So, you must think right to create a better future. In preserving your thoughts, you should:
Many years ago, my husband watched a video recording of one of the crusades of Late Archbishop Benson Idahosa and was fascinated by the healings and diverse miracles in that programme. After viewing it, he had an encounter with God that culminated in many healings in our church the following Sunday. That is the power of positive pictures!
Watch your Words: Another step you must take to secure your future is to watch your words. It is written: …he shall have whatsoever he saith (Mark 11:23). Your words determine your worth. What you say determines what you have.
Several years ago when the ministry just began, my husband kept declaring faith-filled words concerning the ministry. Today, those words have become reality. It all began with his thought, turning to words and then reality (Proverbs 6:2).
Discipline your Disposition: This has to do with your actions, habit, moods and temperament. Every great destiny anchors on self-discipline. Discipline means self-control. You must set boundaries for yourself for the purpose of personal discipline if you must secure a glorious future.
Your position in future cannot be better than your disposition today (1 Samuel 2:3b). God weighs your actions, attitude, dispositions, moods and positioning to give you what you desire. Attitude greatly affect destiny, which is why you must maintain a disciplined attitude. This discipline has to do with your relationships, words, thoughts, crave for material things, money, food, etc. May your glorious future never be lost to indiscipline in the name of Jesus Christ!
However, everything discussed here has its foundation on your stand with God. Every glorious future begins with salvation of the soul. It is written: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (3 John 2).
So, until your soul prospers by being in union with God; being born again, your future is shaky. Therefore, if you are not born again, or may have withdrawn from your confession to make Jesus the Lord and Saviour of your life, you must say this prayer in faith:
Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me. Now I know I am born again!
Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary.
