With praise and thanksgiving to God Almighty, I sincerely welcome you to this glorious year with Heaven on Earth experience with God, who has brought you into this New Year. He has seen you through last year and now, here you are, face to face with the beginning of another glorious year. God’s Word has gone forth concerning you and so, expect that everything will begin to turn positively in your favour.
I was full of excitement, when I was preparing this edition, because of the great and mighty things God has in store for us this year. May you not miss your portion in Jesus’ name!
By the special grace of God, in this great month, I will be showing you the right attitude to possess this New Year, in order to get to God’s promised plan for you. This is why I will be teaching on the subject, which I titled, Right Attitude for a Successful Family Life.
Your attitude determines your altitude in life. Nothing feels better than a successful family life, nothing hurts more than a bad one. To have the right attitude for a successful family, there is the need for an understanding of what it takes and what is expected. John Maxwell says: “The attitude of your family is a reflection of your attitude”.
Whether you are married or intending to get married soon, as you follow this teaching with concentration, God will open your eyes to the truth that will exempt you from the heartaches and sorrows that others experience in home and family life, in Jesus’ name!
I will be sharing with you in this segment on what I titled, Maintaining a Biblical Standard.
A successful family is where there is joy and laughter. It is where scarcity is not known, except rest and love. This is God’s utmost desire for you. Just like every game or sport has rules guiding it, there are rules to follow in order to have a successful family. To break any of them is to disqualify yourself from victory. Another thing to note is, you can’t play basketball following the rules for football, if you want success. The same way, success in family comes by obeying the instructions God lays down concerning the family.
For anyone desiring success in the home, the Bible, which is God’s Word, must be accepted as the standard by all the members of the family. It is God who instituted marriage and family life. The Word of God must be read, taught and obeyed. It is mandatory to have a time of sharing God’s Word (the Bible) and praying together as a family unit. Except you allow the Word of God to have the final say, there is no way you can enjoy success in the family. There is no shortcut to success in the family. In this day and age, where both husbands and wives are busy making money, several forget the place of the Word in the home. Neglecting the Word of God is giving the devil a foothold in your home, so don’t.
Marriages are facing tremendous pressures today. Satan is busy attempting to break up homes. Divorce is rampant. In many homes where divorce has not occurred, there is much sorrow and unhappiness. Our only hope for strengthening the marriage relationship is to know and to apply the principles of the Word of God. Jesus Christ makes a wonderful difference in our lives. But we must know Him as our personal Saviour, and we must do things His way.
Jesus is the cement that holds the home together. He is the Guide, the Teacher, the One who unites, and the One who plants love in the heart. The Bible says: Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it; except the Lord keep the city, the watchman wakes but in vain (Psalm 127:1). A city may have a watchman or even many watchmen, and take all kinds of precautions against attack — but if the Lord is not in His rightful place (and if the Lord is not guarding and protecting that city), then everything else they might do for protection is in vain. It is the same in building a successful home. We may do many things in building a marriage, but if we are not allowing the Lord to be in control and build our home, all is in vain.
We can have a happy and successful home, if we will do things God’s way. Joshua told the people of his day that they had to choose which way to go. Choose you this day whom ye will serve … but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15).
Have you made the choice to surrender your life to Christ? If your answer is “No,” use this opportunity today to make the right choice that will lead you to a right destination. This is done by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. If you are ready for this new birth experience, please say this prayer: Dear Lord, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Now I know I am born again. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.
Congratulations! You are now born again! All round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name. Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through email@example.com, and firstname.lastname@example.org; OR 07026385437 and 08141320204.
