Dear Reader,

Peace and blessings in the precious Name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. I welcome you to this special month which is the first month of the year and I pray that it shall be a month with loads of blessings and testimonies in Jesus name. This month we shall be considering the topic: PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION which determines how much you make your life count in this New Year.

Collin Powell said “None of us can change our yesterdays, but all of us can change our tomorrows.” You may not have achieved all that you planned in the previous years but you have the power to determine your tomorrow; and this begins with personal transformation

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day (Proverbs 4:18).

Personal Transformation is the process of causing a change that equips you for a better and impactful life. Personal transformation includes activities that enhance your strength and help your weaknesses; thereby positioning you to take advantage of opportunities and minimise threats.

Personal transformation is a continuous process which involves consistent upgrade of your life. It means conscious forward movement towards a more advanced, organised state. Transformation is not a point you arrive at, but a process. That is why you must keep on consciously and consistently up-grading yourself.

Apostle Paul said, And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2). The way a man thinks will always affect the way he looks at things or how he views the world around him.

The need for personal transformation is vital even as young ones. Most people are frustrated not because there is a ‘strong’ devil somewhere, but because they have refused to transform their minds. They sit down with their heads bowed day in day out blaming everything and everyone for their stagnation.

Demands of Personal Transformation

  1. Have a Picture of what you want

Before you even think transformation, there must be a picture at the back of your mind. What do you want to become? There is an adage that says “if you don’t know where you are going, everywhere will look like it”. In the same vein, if you don’t have a picture of where you are going you will definitely not get there. For example, if a young lady wants to shed weight, she should have a picture of what being slim is all about, so that she can know when she eventually becomes slim.

You must have a picture of what you want to become in your mind as you journey towards personal mastery. “Knowing others is intelligence. Knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power.” – Lao Tzu.

  1. Set Goals

You can never achieve much if you don’t set goals. So setting goals helps you monitor your progress all through your journey. You are to set SMART goals that are:

S – Specific

M – Measurable

A – Achievable

R – Realistic

T – Time bound

  1. Planning

Planning is the process of thinking about the activities required to achieve a desired goal. It involves the creation and maintenance of a plan, such as psychological aspects that require conceptual skills. Draw out definite plans to actualising your goals. This will enhance your transformation. The Bible says” For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? (Luke 14:28).

  1. Persistence

Change doesn’t happen in a day; thus, it takes consistent practice to get there. You might make mistakes in the process or fail sometimes but keep at it all through the journey. It takes persistence to see the results you desire. Have a positive mindset towards the change you desire and believe that it is possible.

Transformation is personal! Transformation is intentional! Transformation is continuous! Transformation is of the mind; therefore, no one can be transformed for another. But all these can’t be possible without the help of the Holy Spirit and you can’t have the Holy Spirit without being born again. If you are not yet born again and you desire to do so right now, please pray this prayer with faith in your heart: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are born again and now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
