This month of March shall indeed be a glorious month for you! All your expectations shall be met supernaturally and God shall surprise you with testimonies that would attract others to Him. In this glorious month, I shall be discussing with you on Personal Hygiene.
You must have heard the saying that goes “cleanliness is next to godliness.” Although this does not talk about the outward appearance, but it is very important for you to know that since your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, it must be kept fit and clean at all times.
If you have an important guest visiting your home, you would do all it takes to make that guest comfortable. You would sweep both inside and outside of your house, wash the curtains, and could even change the furniture, depending on how important the guest is to you. How much more when you have the King of Glory, All-Sufficient and Powerful God residing permanently in you. That means you do not only need to keep your heart clean, but your physical body has to be clean also.
Personal hygiene means cultivating a habit or practice that promotes and preserves your health. It is the practice of being clean in every aspect of your body. Your teeth must be proper washed, with fresh breathe, your armpit and other hidden areas must be kept clean and you must take time to have a regular wash of your entire body to look fresh and proper.
In this edition, I would like to dwell on taking care of your body parts. According to research, it is discovered that body odour on adults begin from lack of proper care at tender stage, especially during the teenage years, when you are expected to take care of your body without supervision. At the teenage years, your parent expect that you already know how to take a bath, brush your teeth and take care of your under garment, so they do not spend time supervising.
However, some people use this opportunity to exhibit nonchalance in the care of their body and as such develop body odour, skin defect or other worse skin diseases. That is why you must understand the importance of taking special care of your body. You must develop a habit that you would carry through your life time, because what you do now, determines what you would adopt when you are much older with your home and family. Areas to care for include:
Armpit: You should learn to wash properly this area of your body, especially because sweat can clot there, causing germs that result in odours to surface. You should scrub with sponge and a good bath soap, preferably medicated. Also, learn to shave the hair underneath your arm to avoid smell.
Private area: Medically it has be proven that this part of your body should not be washed with soap, so you do not kill the good bacterial that protect this area. However, you should wash with plenty of water. Also learn to keep your under garment clean and you could soak with hot water once in a while. Then, you must learn to clean after you urinate, this will help to feel dry and clean.
Other hidden parts: These include your neck, underneath your breast for the females, your thighs, the joint in your arms and legs, behind your ears and navel. All these areas may not be noticeable, but if not properly washed can result in odours.
Remember health is wealth, and a healthy body connotes a healthy lifestyle. You do not want to be mocked by others, so you must prevent everything that poses a mockery on your body. A good personal hygiene increases your self-confidence and carriage. It makes you admirable and keeps you away from germs and bacterial that causes sickness and disease. It also keeps your skin fresh, such that you would admire even in your old age. Therefore, you must start now, so you do not pay more than required latter to keep healthy and fit.
However, it is God that gives us the wisdom to live healthy. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance what you need to know(John 16:13), but He cannot do that if you are not listed among His children. The Holy Spirit is only given to believers, so you must be born-again to receive the Teacher. To accept Him right now, please say this prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God. I believe You died for me and on the third day, You rose that I might be justified. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.
Congratulations! You are now born-again and a child of God. All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name. Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through email@example.com, and firstname.lastname@example.org; Or 07026385437 and 08141320204.
