OVERCOMING COMPLEX (2)

Dear Reader,
Welcome to the second half of this month. I believe you have been having a great time, and God has been revealing Himself mightily to you since the month began. Indeed, every of your desire for this year will come to full realization in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!
I started this month with the topic: “Overcoming Complex.” We have examined the definition and the two major types of complexes. However, in this edition, I shall be discussing with you on how to overcome whatever form of complex you might be confronted with.
You must understand that all forms of complexes starts from the mind. Every habit or character a person generates begins from the thoughts. That is why the Bible says: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2).
You have to renew your mind from the thought of being superior to others or being inferior to them. Remember, Jesus purchased every one of us with the same price of His blood, and He has no preference (Acts 10:34). So, you must relate with others based on this mind; however, you should know that having complex is way different from showing respect and honour to persons.
To overcome complexes therefore, you must:
Realise your position in Christ: Whenever you feel inferior to others, remind yourself of how special you are to God, the sacrifices He has made on your behave and the fact that you are the apple of His eyes. Remember the Bible says: But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain… (1 Corinthians 15:10). So, by His grace you can do what you see that makes you feel inferior, if you plug into His help.
Appreciate God for all things: Where you are right now and what you have is not by your making, but the grace of God. If you think you should have more, then look at those that don’t have at all; and for those who feel they have too much, consider the fact that you are only a caretaker; God is the original owner of all things. With this understanding, you count yourself as more privileged than being proud.
Appreciate yourself: You have to like who you are, whether you are slim, on the big side, from a wealthy home or not, fair or dark. Your true strength and personality is gotten from within, and not what you have physically. So, build your confidence in that.
See others as the perfect image of God: When you have the same sense of value for others as you have for yourself, you will not feel superior or inferior to them. Rather, you would relate in love and acceptance of your unity and bond in Christ.
You are special to God! That is why He has made every provision for you through His Word and to make you all that He has created you to be. God does not enjoy seeing you less than you should be, neither does He want any iota of pride to be formed in you. So, see yourself through His eyes, and let it conform your attitude to life. Remember: But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18).
However, to be completely free from complexes, you need the help of God. His help is only available to His children. That means accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. To accept Him right now, please say this prayer: “Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God. I believe You died for me and on the third day, You rose that I might be justified. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”
