OBEDIENCE: THE PATH TO GREATNESS

Dear Reader,
This year has indeed been awesome and I hope you are having a great experience with God, even as I have being encountering Him freshly daily. All through this year, we have together looked at wonderful topics that I am sure if you have been following and applying to your life, would only bring out the giant in you.
This month, I shall be exposing you to another vital key you cannot do without on your path to greatness. This is the key of Obedience. Everyone knows and loves to give instructions, but not everyone is willing to be obedient. The virtue of obedience is one of the greatest weapons in the hands of all the fathers of faith in Scriptures. Moreover, if you study carefully, you discover that those who walked in disobedience always had a terrible end.
However, to walk in obedience, you must understand what it means to be obedient. So many people mistake this for being attentive, but it is not (Matthew 21:28-31). Obedience entails doing what you are told to do. The Bible says:
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: (Deuteronomy 28:1)
As Christians, our instructions are from God, as contained in the Bible. Every instruction in the Bible is for our lifting. Unfortunately, so many people desire to receive the blessings therein, but not everyone is willing to obey. Before anyone can be great, you must be willing to pay the price and that includes obeying every Word that comes from God.
For instance, Abraham was told to sacrifice Isaac his long awaited promise from God. However, he did not complain, but obeyed promptly and with his obedience came a sworn verdict of post-generational blessings, which brought about his greatness (Genesis 22:1-3; 16-18). If you follow through the story of Abraham, you would realise that at every change of his level came and an instruction.
It is the obedience to God’s command either written or spoken, that makes great. The Bible says: If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures (Job 36:11). As stewards of God, He has promised prosperity, pleasures and goodness, but it comes with the clause of obedience. Someone said: “Every great person has first learned how to obey, whom to obey, and when to obey.”
God’s commands are not intended to grieve you or stress you out (1 John 5:3), but it is a compendium of Spiritual truth, profitable for reproof, correction and guidance towards the fulfilment of your glorious destiny (2 Timothy 3:16). No doubt, there is greatness inside of you, but if it must be harnessed then you must be willing to diligently follow God’s commandments.
The good news is that, you already have a helper in the person of the Holy Spirit, Who teaches you to obey without hitches. You can always rely on Him, because He is ever dependable. However, to be connected to the help of the Holy Spirit, you need to be born again.
Truth is, you can be born again by just saying this prayer in faith: Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me. Now I know I am born again!
Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary. All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name! Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org, OR call 07026385437 and 08141320204.
