Dear Reader,

Living an exemplary lifestyle is not a gift, it is a choice you make and everyone takes responsibility towards it. To live an exemplary life means to bear the right fruits after the order of Jesus Christ, to walk in His steps and bring up others in like manner.

You must note that only those who abide in Christ are empowered to live an exemplary lifestyle. When you abide in Christ who is the true Vine, His very life begins to flow into you, enabling you to live like Him. The Bible says: Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me (John 15:4).

Living an exemplary lifestyle is also a continuous exercise. You don’t just take the step and remain stagnant; you have to continue in it to truly arrive at your main goal which is to impact lives globally. Personally, I was privileged to begin this journey as a teenager in high school. Ever since, my life has never been the same. Things have been getting better for me in all aspect, as every passing year has been a plus on the previous.

However, you cannot live an exemplary life in the energy of the flesh. You need to be endued with power from on high.

How to Connect to the Power Source

Before electric current can pass through a switch to supply energy in a house, there must be a connection to the source. In like manner, the Holy Spirit is the source power but until you are connected to Him you cannot live a life worth emulating. The Bible says:

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8).

The power of the Holy Spirit enables, equips and strengthens you to be a living witness for Christ. He fills you with the love of God (Romans 5:5), thereby empowering you to want to make a difference in the lives of others.

But, How do you connect to this Power Source?

  • Have a Genuine Thirst. To be connected to the Holy Spirit, you must genuinely crave for Him. Be desperate for what He carries and His presence in your life. Without a thirst, you may not feel His manifestation in you (John 7:37).
  • Ask in Faith. You cannot be connected to this divine power without faith. This power source comes from God and it is impossible to receive anything from God without faith (James 1:6-7). So, ask for the filling of the Holy Spirit in faith and Jesus who is the Baptizer will fill you (Luke 11:13).
  • Open your Mouth and Speak. When you are baptized with the Holy Spirit, one of the evidences is speaking in tongues. However, for you to manifest in this realm you need to open your mouth and speak out the utterance given to you by Him (Acts 2:4).

Right now, I pray that you be filled with the Holy Spirit for an exemplary lifestyle in the name of Jesus Christ!

However, before you are filled with the Holy Spirit you need to be born again. Accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is the foundation to receiving any other gift from God. If you have not done this, you should say this prayer in faith:

Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me.  Now I know I am born again!

Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary.
