Dear Reader,

I count it a great joy to bring God’s Word your way again today. Last time, I started teaching on knowing God via His Word. However, this time, I will continue on other aspects on knowing God.

Prayer is vital, to grow in the things of God. It is a necessary weapon for us to be victorious in life. At all cost, we must ensure we do it every single day.

Jesus speaking said: Watch and pray so you don’t fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak (Mark 14:38).

I know we have so many responsibilities; however we must order our priorities correctly. The temptation to fall comes every single day and we must be ready to fight against it.

The enemy knows the importance of prayer, so if we are not vigilant, he would always find something for us to do when we should be praying. Some of us may be mothers with young children constantly seeking our attention, we may be students who have to attend classes and work at the same time, we may be wives, mothers and employees, all at the same time. We may be husbands and fathers, working long hours every single day. That is the more reason why we need to pray. You cannot afford to be too busy to pray.

Apart from communicating with God, it is where your strength comes from. It is waiting on Him that causes your strength to be renewed.

I have met a few people who have all kinds of responsibilities and never take fellowship with God out of the equation, but they never look tired; they are always refreshed and full of energy. While those who have even fewer responsibilities, and seem too busy to interact with God, are always singing about how “tired and worn out” they are.

Intimacy with God grows out of sharing your heart with God, and He also has the opportunity to speak to you.

Remember Daniel? The secret or the interpretation of the dream would not have been revealed to Him if he did not pray (Daniel 2: 16-20)

Even Jesus knew the importance of prayer. In Mark 1:35, very early in the morning, He would go to a solitary place, where He prayed. He was sinless, yet He prayed, how much more you and

We cannot accomplish feats without taking time to speak and listen to God, because the exploits in every area of life, come through Him.

As we enquire of Him, and wait for Him to speak, He gives us direction on the steps to take in life.

We should see it as though our lives depend on it.

“…they shall be strong….”

Strength is the portion of those who know their God. Being strong is not an option, because you and I need strength to do exploits.

So, any person who takes time to know God intimately, and grows in Him is never found weary, tired, sick, and helpless. Their characteristic is strength!

To handle the demands of life; a good amount of energy is required.

That is why intimacy with God is so important. He doesn’t want us to just get by and have mediocre results; He wants us to stand out in our various endeavours. To stand out, strength is required.

When you find yourself needing rest, instead of making statements like “I am so tired, I am worn out”, shout out loud,Nehemiah 8:10: The joy of the Lord is my strength.

Psalm 73:26: My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Ephesians 6:10: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Philippians 4:13: I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Isaiah 40:31: But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

All those scriptures tell me that despite the demands of life, the strength of God is available, as long as we have Him as our foundation.

The enemy may come and try to drop some kind of health challenge on you, but never accept it. It is not your portion. If you are bed-ridden, you can’t do exploits; if you are bound by sickness and disease, you can’t do exploits. Therefore, never have the time to be sick. You have too many things to do.

The world is waiting for you.

We defined exploits as having the “wow” factor.

Doing something extraordinary; something unexpected of you; something that cannot be accomplished in the energy of the flesh.

We have seen some examples and there are others like Joseph, Moses, Joshua, etc. All of them naturally could not have accomplished their various tasks, but had one common denominator: GOD!

That proves that every single one of us has the supernatural ability as believers, to accomplish unimaginable feats.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (1 Corinthians 2:9).

That scripture is to find practical expression in the life of every person who has a heart after God, their industry or sector notwithstanding.

Nobody came to this world just to pass through it. Our ultimate goal should not be just to get married and have children. The world is to take notice of us in our generation. There are two vital ingredients to make exploits a reality and we would look at them below.

a. Vision.

Before you can do exploits, you must know what you have seen and where you are going. Proverbs 29:18 says: where there is no vision the people perish. You must know what your assignment is on the earth.

Do you have a vision of what God is set to accomplish through you? You must seek God for it. Nobody can tell you what God’s plan and purpose are for you. You must ask God why you are here. Take time to seek Him, have a note book and pen and as you hear from Him, write it down. The vision should be plain and understandable. My challenge to you is to search out God’s vision for your life.

You are here to have an impact on others beyond your immediate family. No matter the phase of your life now, you must locate your assignment in life that goes beyond your family. Locate a vision for your family also. Remember exploits are not limited to one area of your life. What type of family do you want to raise? Have a clear vision and run with it.

b. Commitment/Dedication

A vision is just a nice fantasy without getting committed to the task. You cannot do exploits without giving ourselves wholly to something. Those who we see accomplish extraordinary feats are the ones who went the extra mile. That is while others are sleeping and lounging about; you are still working on your craft.

So in your marriage, people should be “wowed”, in your academics, career, all your accomplishments, people should marvel like they did with Jesus, Paul, Joshua, with David, and all the other great examples set before us.

Please note that exploits are actually not for you. They are not to bring you fame and fortune; the ultimate outcome is to bring others to the knowledge of God. Whatever the outcome is, it must bring glory to God. In Daniel 6:26, after the King met Daniel and his friends safe and sound in the lion’s den, he gave a decree stating that all the people of the land must worship Daniel’s God. That is the ultimate goal!

Dear reader, your intimacy with God is what facilitates the accomplishment of all the demands of your life. So, I urge you to develop a deeper relationship with Him.

My husband, David Oyedepo Jnr always says that “your only advantage in life is God”. How true! It is what will make you stand out in your generation. As you diligently go after Him and His Kingdom  (Matthew 6:33), the world would have no choice but to take notice of you, in every area of your life.

Do you have a vision of what God is set to accomplish through you? You must seek God for it. To seek God, you have to be born again, which starts by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. If you are ready for this new birth experience, please say this prayer: “Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. I can’t help myself. Forgive me of my sins. From today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me. Now I know I am born again.”
