Intimacy With God (2)

Intimacy With God (2)

Dear Reader,

I strongly believe this month have been wonderful for you. Your great packages will not elude you! Previously we looked at Developing Intimacy with God by defining intimacy and considered the different levels of your relationship with God, namely: as your Creator, Father and Lord.

In this second edition, we shall be looking at how to Develop Intimacy with God, and we are considering avenues through which we can develop an intimate relationship with God.

To Develop an Intimate relationship with God, however, you have to consciously, deliberately, intentionally, willingly, excitedly make yourself available through deep Word study, prayer life and constant fellowshipping with Him.

Word Study: The Bible is the written Word of God. It is as powerful as if you are hearing God speak to you audibly.  Know God personally and daily develop your relationship with Him, through deep Word study. Studying His Word will make you familiar with His voice. Naturally, if you have a strong relationship with someone, like a family member or a close friend, you could easily pick his or her voice among the crowd.

One time, many years ago when my biological mother was still alive we went to a particular city for a meeting. It was such a great crowd; it was an uphill task for us to get back in the car after the event. But in the midst of the mammoth crowd, I could identify my mother’s voice, even though I never knew that she was in that city at that point in time. That is how it should be with God. This kind of relationship can be developed through your study of His Word. If you are familiar with God’s voice, He will caution and deliver you from entering wrong relationships with men.

Prayer Life: Prayer is our communication link with God. If your prayer life is buoyant, then your relationship with Him will be buoyant. God desires that we commune with Him daily. Just as it is not natural for you to have a relationship with someone you do not talk to, so also you cannot have a deep relationship with God if your prayer life is not sound.  Psalms 65:2 says: O thou that heareth prayer unto thee shall all flesh come.

God, who is your Father, is ready to hear you anytime you call. Do not hesitate to commune with Him, even concerning the minutest details of your life.

Constant Fellowship: The gathering together of saints in fellowship is a vital way of relating with God.  Go to church regularly; it strengthens your relationship with God. Refuse to be only a Sunday, Sunday worshipper. God is always there whenever and wherever His name is called upon in truth and indeed.

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20).

As you go to church and attend fellowship, you also partake of the gifts that operate in the Body of Christ, and you are more rooted in your relationship with your heavenly Father.

Until you are born again, your relationship cannot be intimate with God. You get born again by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. If you have not asked Jesus to come into your life or may have neglected your initial love for Him, then you should say this prayer in faith:

Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me.  Now I know I am born again!

Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary. All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name!  Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through OR call 07026385437 and 08141320204.
