GROW SPIRITUALLY (2)

Dear Reader,

How beautiful it is to grow from one level of spiritual grace to another. The experience and feeling is indescribable. The truth is: no one has really gotten to the peak of his or her spiritual growth, however every genuine child of God must desire and work towards moving upwards spiritually.

You should long to get to the stage where principalities and powers tremble when they hear your name. Just as it was said of Paul And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? (Acts 19:15)

In a book, it was said of Kathryn Kuhlman the great female evangelist that when she walked pass a place, people usually fall under the anointing of the Holy Spirit working in her. That is a great level in spirituality. Though it is not just about getting people to fall, but you must be in command spiritually.

Many years ago, someone shared an experience of how a lady in the country side of America met him at a book store and asked if he knew Bishop David Oyedepo, because she heard that witches fear him. If he had not built and is still building himself spiritually, that wouldn’t have been the story. So, it is very crucial to grow yourself, if you must excel in your Christian walk.

Another Major Spiritual Nutrient for Spiritual Growth is:

  • Prayer: Your relationship with God as a member of His family has to be strengthened per day, and the only way you can achieve this is to keep the communication line open through prayers.

Communication is the strength of every good relationship. Prayer is not only communication with God, but it is our strength in battle. Prayer is a vital key in accessing grace for spiritual growth and to wage war against any force standing in your way of growth.

You need to learn to live a life of prayer. Praying in the Spirit and in your understanding consistently give you access to tap into God’s strength. The Bible says: Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

Personally, I often pray for a release of fresh grace for running the race of life, on a regular basis. You too can do the same. Certainly, you will always find grace in time of need on the altar of prayer.

However, for your prayer to be effective and produce results, you must mind the following:

  • Pray from the heart. The depth of your heart from where your prayer comes is what determines whether it will produce results or not. It is written: And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13). You can only move from one level to another in your spiritual journey when you search for God wholeheartedly.
  • Pray with the Word of God. Your prayer always for whatever concern is laid in your heart should be in line with God’s Word. Only prayer according to God’s will which is His Word guarantees answers (1 John 5:14b).
  • Always add thanksgiving to your prayer. This should be an essential part of your prayer for it to produce results (Philippians 4:6). Thanksgiving is that ingredient that makes all the difference in prayer; it is worth more than a thousand words.

The benefit of having a robust prayer life far outweighs all your efforts put together. A healthy prayer life equips and empowers you for a stress-free life. The truth is: To be prayerless is to be powerless. It is time to wake up unto prayer.

How to begin to work towards Spiritual growth

  • Make a decision: You need to make a quality decision, followed by a serious determination to grow spiritually. Every step taken towards a goal either positive or negative begin with a decision
  • Schedule your time to build yourself: It is important that you allocate a period of time to pray, study your Bible, attend spiritual gatherings and fast. This could be a particular time of the day, a specific length of time or create a particular place for these activities. It is also important for you to be consistent when you engage in your “time alone” with God.
  • Start right: You might not be able to go through a lengthy period of prayer, fasting and Word study, but you can begin from somewhere and gradually advance. However, you must ensure you don’t stay at a spot in your spiritual walk.
  • Think, speak, act and live the Word: The essence of your spiritual walk is to be like Christ (1 Corinthians 3:18). When your life is Word controlled, you will always be in control of life situations and you will always keep growing spiritually.

However, the journey towards spiritual growth doesn’t come easy, but you can begin by laying a foundation of a right relationship with Christ. Accept Him as personal Lord and saviour of your soul. This is what makes life enriching.

If you have not asked Jesus to come into your life or may have neglected your initial love for Him, then you should say this prayer in faith:

Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me.  Now I know I am born again!

Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary. All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name!  Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org OR call 07026385437 and 08141320204.

This is the greatest feeling ever, I began this morning, two hours straight, lost in His Presence. Thank you, Ma.
