FULFILLING DESTINY (1)
You are welcome to this great and wonderful month. The year is fast rolling out, and there is a need for you to commit yourselves more to making most of the year, but what matters most is the fulfillment of your destiny. The Bible says: So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom (Psalms 90:12).
One of the greatest goal you should aim at as teenagers is to fulfill destiny that is, to walk in God’s plan for your life. It those not only guarantee you a glorious end, but bring you peace, joy and fulfillment in return. This month, I will be discussing with you on the topic: Fulfilling Destiny.
What is Destiny?
Destiny is the accomplishment of Purpose for man; it is not a destination but an adventure. Purpose is the reason for creating a particular thing. In this case, it is identifying why you were created: the original intent God had when He made you. Purpose relates to the will of God concerning you and His master blueprint or master plan for your life. The truth is, you were not created by accident nor did you come into existence because your parent made a mistake. Even though you might have been told that before by your earthly parent or someone else, that’s untrue concerning you.
God created you for a purpose! His word says in Jeremiah 1:5 that before you were formed in the belly He already knew you. Your future is secured with him. The part you are to play is the discovery of purpose and working in it. A wise man once said “He who knows others is learned; But he who knows himself is wise.” Dr. Myles Munroe said: “When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable.” The discovery of your purpose is the utmost approach to maximizing your Destiny. Discovering your identity is basically who you are.
If you don’t know why you exist in this world, you are bound to abuse your gifting and abilities. God revealed Jeremiah’s purpose to him. The Bible says in Jeremiah 1:5: Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Jeremiah was in line with God’s purpose for his life early enough and so he ended up as a great prophet. It is not enough to know that God has a purpose for bringing you into this world, but that the purpose must be discovered early. The first step in fulfilling your purpose is discovery of purpose
However, to discover destiny/purpose, you must dig into Scriptures and inquiry earnestly from God in prayers. The Bible says: Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not (Jeremiah 33:3). You can always ask God to show you what plans He has for you and it would be revealed unto you. Discovery of purpose is the greatest discovery anyone can ever make about himself.
You may ask but why do I need to discover purpose?
It gives direction and speed: Just as a manufacturer put a manual in the pack of a new product on how to use it, is the same way discovering of purpose gives you a hint of how God intends your journey, experiences and final destination on the earth to look like. Following God’s plan for your life guarantees you speedy fulfillment of destiny because direction is a function of speed.
It guarantees your success: Success is not a matter of material possessions or achievements. It has even less to do with what people think or say about you. True success is the discovery and fulfillment of your divine purpose. A person can only be termed successful if he or she is at the center of God’s will for their life.
Outside purpose, life unfulfilling: Life will be full of straggles, stress pains, failure and unfulfilling without doing what you were designed to do.
However, you cannot discover purpose if you are not in tune with the Holy Spirit, who is the custodian of God’s plan and purpose for man. But you can’t have commune with the Holy Spirit without being born again, means accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour of your life. This is the first step to receiving answers from God regarding His purpose for you on the earth.
If you are yet to do so you can say this prayer in faith with me; Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me. Now I know I am born again!
