You are welcome once again in Jesus’ precious name. We have been looking at Enhancing my Single Life. Last time, we examined how to discipline yourself. Today, I will be looking at a subject, Tomorrow will soon be today.
Genesis 8:22 says: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. This clearly means that life is in phases and as long as the earth remains, different seasons of life shall continually be in force. For you to fulfil destiny, you must have a good understanding of the season that you are in per time, and possess a working knowledge of the demands, benefits and privileges of the same.
Abraham Lincoln, US President (1861-1865) said: “The best thing about the future is that it only comes one day at a time.” Inevitably, the future will soon be upon you! Tomorrow will soon be today; this is the best time to face your future.
Whatever your age today, (whether twenty, twenty-five, thirty, forty or older), you cannot be that age forever; it can only be for the now! When the now is gone, that specific time of your life is gone forever and you can never recall it. That is why Ecclesiastes 3:1 clearly states that to everything under the sun, including the single years, there is a time and a season.
Consider this for a moment: When a baby is born, he grows through childhood, adolescence, teenage years and single life, perhaps married life, mid-life, old age and then ultimately aged. The same is true of the family circle. You are first young and under the care and tutelage of your parents or guardians, then you are mature enough to begin to consider getting married, at which phase, you are referred to as being single. You get married; become a parent and grand-parent. Then after fulfilling the number of days, at a good old age, one of the spouses may translate to glory, then you become a widow or widower and back again to being single but now with an enlarged family tree.
God is awesome! Certainly, life is designed of God to be in phases and not static. Being single is just one of the seasons of life and unless effectively and maximally utilized, it fizzles away so fast and can never be recaptured. Interestingly, I have discovered that many singles spend this season of their lives as if it can be held down or stored away in some place and relived when they so desire. They are so consumed with wanting to move to the next phase of life, which is being married, that they fail to realise the beauty of their present phase. So, they miss out on the enormous plan and purpose of God for this season. You shall not miss out of the plan of God for your life in Jesus’ name.
God’s Word says: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV). God has planned a glorious future for you. He so much loves you that He thinks thoughts of peace concerning you, ever desiring the establishment of this glorious future. What a joy, that even while you are still single, God is thinking about you! This is absolutely awesome! Whatever your situation or circumstance right now, you must settle it in your heart that the future God has planned for you is a glorious one. I rejoice with you!
If you are not born again, you will not be able to access what it takes to maximize your single years. You get born again by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. If you are ready for this new birth experience, please say this prayer: “Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”
