EMBRACING INTEGRITY! (2)

EMBRACING INTEGRITY! (2)

Dear Reader,

It is yet another privilege to bring to you God’s Word today.  Each time the Word of God comes, it comes new to refresh and edify your spirit, soul and body.

We started the first series of this topic and we were able to establish the need to live a life of integrity and how to build integrity. Going forward, in this second series, we shall be looking into the benefit of integrity and how it is expected of you to display them in various places.

Integrity is like rays of light that is meant to shine. Light is most likely appreciated in the place where darkness is reigning. So, there are places where your integrity is expected to speak. Some of these places are:

In your Family

The first place to display integrity is at home. A popular saying has it that ‘charity begins at home’. As a Christian teenager, you should be known for a lifestyle of integrity at home such that when the opposite is been said about you from outside, your family members would be able to defend who they know you to be rather than what outsiders have to say about you. You practice integrity with your family first before you can let it out to the outside world. Your family should be the first beneficiaries of your good integrity. Your life cannot count from the outside, you first make positive impact in your family before you move outside. What testimony does your people have about you? Can your family vouch for you at all cost because they are convinced you have always lived a life of integrity?

For instance, Achan in Joshua 7:21 caused his family and lineage to be destroyed because he couldn’t embrace integrity. His family never knew he has ever stolen, or he stole. Likewise, your family can suffer for your lack of integrity. Many family members have been killed or imprisoned because of a relative; therefore, you owe your family that duty to embrace integrity.

In your Neighbourhood

The Bible says, Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and alms deeds which she did. Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them (Acts 9:36, 39). Your integrity speaks louder than your voice, just as Dorcas, her integrity saved her life, she was known to be a woman of peace and have been of help to her neighbours and all that is close to her. What do people say about you, have you been able to show integrity to your neighbours and be a practical example of Jesus as a teenager? This is the time you have to make an indelible mark in the lives around your neighbourhood. My husband built a church in a village as a young boy, he was given a lamp and a prophesy was made that his light will shine to the world; today, we all can see his light shining to the world at large. You too can tilt towards this path and see how bright and glorious your live would become.

In Your School

It is no longer news how people live a double standard life, what they are at home is different from what they are outside. At home, they are saints; but outside, they are something else! Some people cannot be trusted with money in their offices, because they lack financial integrity, their colleagues or classmates dislike or don’t allow them come close to them because when they are around you, something must be missing.  If you must make your life count as a Christian teenager, see it as a responsibility and a duty. Your lifestyle is a mirror others watch, your actions can plant a wrong seed in the mind of your colleagues thus, negatively influencing them.

Benefits of integrity

Integrity has many benefits and it cannot be overemphasised; however, be rest assured that you will reap the benefits if you abide by it.

Credibility

When you are known for integrity people will automatically trust you. They are sure that you can be relied upon, no matter what happens. Joseph displayed credibility when he refused to sleep with the master’s wife even when she threatened him, no wonder God reserved the throne of influence for him. Don’t be in a hurry to get all quickly at the expense of your integrity. God is not mocked, if you sow integrity; you will reap trust.

Respect and Dignity

Reaping respect and dignity is guaranteed for one who walks in integrity. If you want to be respected, then you have to maintain integrity. Remember, respect is earned. For instance, when Daniel got to Babylon and saw the food of the king, he was not carried away by it and he never spoilt himself. This made him and his friends stand out in the land of Babylon, which resulted to his recommendation to the king.

Success and Peace is Guaranteed

Integrity brings success. You can be recommended for good just like Joseph was because he maintained integrity. You don’t have an idea what your integrity can fetch your destiny. Many have gotten diverse recommendations because they kept their integrity intact and refused to compromise. When you embrace integrity, you enjoy peace on all sides, you will not be guilt hunt for all the wrong things you may have done. Psalm 37:37 says, Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

Jesus is the only way to building a lasting integrity and you need Him all along your life’s journey. If you have not accepted Him as your Lord and personal Saviour, now is the best time for you to do so. If you have made this decision, say this prayer of faith with me: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin, pride, arrogance and self-pity and all the lies of satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom, in Jesus name! Amen.
