You are welcome to this glorious moment in God’s presence. This Month, I shall be sharing with you on the topic titled “Don’t Dress To Kill.” As you pay rapt attention to God’s Word today, I see Him directing your path in Jesus’ name!
To begin with, your dressing reflects your values, self-worth, taste, etc. The way you dress is the way you are addressed. In the beginning, God clothed the first man and woman. Genesis 3:21 says: Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
The primary purpose of dressing is to cover man’s nakedness in a way to please his Creator. Other reasons are: to be elegant and dynamic in our day to day activities; to serve as a role model to both the saved and the unsaved; to be comfortable when it’s hot, to keep warm when it’s cold, to be protected from physical injuries; amongst others.
However, how you address your inner man will determine how you dress outwardly. Inwardly, a Christian woman desires to be godly or Christ-like (1 Peter 3).
Moreover, a woman should dress in a manner that will not give others a negative impression about her person. A godly woman is always concerned about bringing glory to God, by virtue of her modest and exemplary expression in dressing. How we dress and carry our bodies must be primarily guided by the Word of God because our outward appearance reflects what we stress inwardly.
The Bible frowns at the dress trend that advertises the body. In addition, our dressing must reflect the glory of God and not our desire for undue attention. We live in a world that encourages seduction and the liberty of vain imaginations (Genesis 6:5). Our physical and spiritual dressings must reflect Jesus Christ if we intend to glorify God. Simply put, don’t wear seductive clothes suggestive of flirtation and lust to people.
Dressing to please God can only be done by the help of the Holy Spirit. Are you born again? Are you a child of God? Are you ready to give God a place in your life? If you are ready, please say this prayer with me: “Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”
Congratulations! You are now born again! Till I come your way next time, please call or write, and share your testimonies with me through: Email: firstname.lastname@example.org, 07026385437 OR 08141320204.
