Dear reader,

As the year ends I want to bring to you a wonderful subject that will lay a foundation for you this coming year, I have shared the first part of this subject with you earlier this month but I want to espouse the second part of this subject, with the intention of unveiling what humility truly means and it will inspire you to be humble and still maintain your worth. I will love you to get glued to this piece as I further unveil this subject further.

Jesus calls us to deny ourselves; but He did not call us to destroy and devalue ourselves. Taking up your cross is not about embracing self-hatred. Telling yourself you are rubbish is not humility.  Actually these examples of emotional self-harm can be strategies the devil uses to pull you out of God’s primary will for you.

Have you always assumed that you the worst thing in the world, as a way to prove you are humble?  Actually people might be telling you they love you, you are beautiful, creative, you have a wonderful character but in the bid to look humble you take up horrible attributes for yourself. One thing I know I have always done is telling myself the good things that Jesus told me from his Word in Psalms 139- 14 … for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. I am conscious of how wonderful I am in Jesus that did not make me proud or think less about others.

Negative self-talk is not humility. It’s feeding yourself a diet of lies and it stunts your growth in Christ and other areas of your life.  You often say ‘I’m useless’, ‘I’m rubbish’, ‘I’m ugly’, ‘I’m worthless.’  The truth from the Bible in songs of Solomon 4:7 NLT “You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way”. There is no reassurance of your self-image like this: so why think less of yourself as been humble.

All emotional brittleness is the imaginary self-identity outside of Jesus. None of those things are about Jesus at all rather negative self-talks. So much of negative self-talks is built on fear – fear of stepping out and serving others. Fear of not being enough.

Don’t allow your moods to determine how you walk rather, let your discovery in God’s words do. Be joyful no matter the situation, you are a creature of great value. God is mindful of you, so walk tall! Lift your head and straighten your shoulders! Let your walk reflect strength, health, honour, dignity, and a sense of purpose. As you do, you are surely going to make a difference.

Always remember that being humble cannot be equated with low self-esteem, negative talks about oneself and shying away from who you really are in Jesus.

Jesus is saying to you today “I love you with an everlasting love, I love you because I love you.” And while you frowned in disbelief He goes to the cross for you. There He becomes the ugly, worthless, He took it down to the pit where it belongs. Then He rises again to a shining new life. He sits at the right hand of God and He carries you on His heart. Jesus is interested in you; Are you interested in Jesus too?  If so make this simple prayer of faith

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin, pride, arrogance and self-pity and all the lies of satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom in Jesus name Amen.

Congratulations! Now Jesus is your identity. The old you– full of pride and doubts, sins and stupidity – is dead and buried. The new you is alive in Jesus. when the feelings of worthlessness come, you have a choice to fight them with the truth in Jesus
