These benefits of confidence in God are:
As previously explained, confidence comes as a result of love and trust in God. When our love is secure and our trust is steadfast, confidence is guaranteed. This then gives us access to God, and strength to approach him, without fear. Just as we have confidence when approaching our close friends that whatever it is we have to say, they are there to listen and do what they can, the same goes with God. He has had His hands wide open to receive us and so when we build our confidence in Him, our relationship is boosted and we can approach Him at any time, for any reasons. Abraham had great confidence in God and we see signs of this when he went up to sacrifice his son Isaac. It is important to note that this all came after him and his wife, Sarah, had waited on the promise of Isaac for 25 years!! This is true confidence and is beyond the logic of human thinking. It could only have come as a result of complete and total confidence in the whole person of God.
Aside from the blessings God swore on Abraham that day, we see that multiple times in the Bible, God called Abraham his friend.
“And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.”
Abraham’s confidence boosted his relationship with God and they became friends.
Don’t you want God to call YOU His friend?
Build on your love, your trust, and then your confidence in Him; and I believe we will all get there in Jesus name.
Note I said “faith for answers” and not “faith for answered prayers”. This is very crucial and is intentional, so I will explain further. When your confidence in God is solid and your relationship with him is boosted, you don’t need to ask for anything before He supplies them to you.
I will give you a practical example.
About three, four weeks to my sister’s wedding, she still did not have her jewelry. She asked if I’d have some time to buy it online and just ship it to our home in London; considering I no longer lived in London at the time, but in a different city. Soon as I realized how close we were to the wedding, I asked two of my close friends to meet up with me in London and we dedicated a day to going from store to store to find the best possible jewelry. I had searched for stores online so I had an idea where we’d go and in every store I found something she’d possibly like, I sent her pictures and waited for her responses to see what she thought. This took time because the store we last entered eventually closed with us in it; but thankfully, we were able to make the purchases. From this, you see she did not have to ask me to go before I chose to; I did beyond what she asked, and I did it joyfully. Everything was done from my heart and cost did not matter to me. My goal was to ensure she was happy and this is all because of our relationship.
Now imagine having such a relationship with God; the God who owns e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g!
You won’t need to ask to receive… the supplies will be waiting before the needs arise. That’s the kind of God we serve.
Being the friend of God pays! It pays greatly! So of all we’ve learned, most important is building on our relationship with God and that is the key to everything else.
I pray the Holy Spirit gives us understanding and grants us the grace, wisdom and discipline to continuously build on a stronger relationship with God in Jesus name.
