CHOOSE TO BE DIFFERENT (1)

CHOOSE TO BE DIFFERENT (1)

Dear Readers,

I welcome you to another glorious month.  A month packed with pleasant surprises. My prayer for you is that your own portion of the blessings for this month will not elude you in Jesus name. For you to enjoy this blessings you must therefore, position yourself rightly by connecting to God and totally submitting to his will.

That brings us to our topic for this month which is CHOOSE TO BE DIFFERENT.

One way to submit to God’s will is by choosing to be different.  The Bible says Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind… (Romans 12:2)

To be different means to be unlike in nature, not the same as. From the above scripture we understand God’s stand on this matter, he doesn’t want us to comply with the standards of the world.

We however discover today, that many try so hard to belong or fit in to the style, pattern and behavior of the world rather than the Word of God, this is  specially so among young people. Some wants to experience what the world has to offer, they study the way the world act, dresses, and live and begin to act accordingly to the point that they cannot be distinguished from the world.

Some others have become so laid-back that they do not quickly realize how the world has crept into them, because they did not maintain a watchful demeanor. We must therefore make a deliberate and conscious decision to be different if we want to encounter greatness in life.

Matthew 5:14 tells us that we are the light of the world. Just as the natural light doesn’t struggle to shine and also gives direction, you have been destined to naturally shine wherever you are, and be that light for others to see.

Can u imagine yourself in a dark room, trying to find your way around, and immediately a switch is turned on, you don’t have to grope about in the dark anymore. So also you are not meant to go about life trying to see how you fit in or belong. Someone once said “why fit in, when you were born to stand out”

You are in the World, but you are not of the World. Therefore, change you mindset and begin to act differently.

You may ask yourself, why should I be different?  Let’s look at the case study of Daniel. Daniel in Daniel 1: 8 choose not to defile himself of the royal food and wine.

He and the three (3) other Hebrew boys took a stand to be different from the others by making a decision to Obey God, the situation notwithstanding. The bible tells us In Daniel 1:17 that to these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. You also can make that decision to take a Stand for Christ today, and begin to enjoy the numerous benefits that comes with it.

For you to be able to make this decision you must first be born again. Until you are born again, you cannot connect to God and submit wholeheartedly to his will. You get born again by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. If you have not asked Jesus to come into your life or may have neglected your initial love for Him, then you should say this prayer in faith:

Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me.  Now I know I am born again!

Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary.
