Dear Reader,

Peace and blessing to you in the name of Jesus Christ! It’s a wonderful month, filled with laughter, prosperity and blessings. It’s the eight month of the year, which represents your month of “new beginnings.” Therefore, everything about you will be turned new and fresh. God will give you a new name and identity and everywhere you have been pitied, you will be celebrated!

There is no doubt that God has created you to reign in life, but for you to fully attain that status there are choices you must make wisely. One of which is to mind your association. The company your keep determines what accompanies you. That is why this month, I will be teaching on the topic: Association Defines Destination.

The relationship you keep and the people you associate with, have a way of affecting your impact in life. The Bible says: Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful (Psalms 1:1).

Your friends either add to you or take away from you; they do not leave you neutral. Although we all desire to be associated with someone or somewhere, we must also be mindful of the association we keep which forms our relationship.

It means contact and interaction with people. It means to be involved, to link up with someone else. For your relationship with others to be successful, you must be able to agree on relevant and important aspects that pertain to you. The Bible says:

Can two walk together, except they be agreed? (Amos 3:3)

Every relationship is built and sustained based on agreement.

Before you begin a relationship with someone, be it acquaintance, close friends, or any kind of relationship, there are fundamental things you must know:

God believes in Relationships: You were not created to live in isolation. In fact, it was God that said it’s not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18). So, he expects you to have someone you can share ideas with, commune with and be free. Even in heaven, there is a strong relationship between God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7). So, if God believes in relationships, He honours the ones you keep. Therefore, they must agree with His terms.

Man was created to Relate: Man was created in the image of God and God is relationship oriented. We were created to have relationship with God and humans. That’s why the Bible says: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created (Revelations 4:11).

To be distinguished in life, you cannot do without profitable relationships; for a tree never makes a forest.

Relationships are Built: Good relationships don’t just happen, they are made to happen. They require investments if they must stand strong (Proverbs 18:24). Carefully select your friends, and as you do, you must learn to be the friend you want them to be to you. Remember, without good relationships, your impact will be limited. So, invest your time, energy and intellect to build strong lasting relationships.

Relationships Influence You: The relationships you keep will either affect you negatively or positively. They influence your character, choices, dressing and lifestyle. They influence how far and high you can achieve in life. That is why it is popularly said: “Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are.”

If you must ride high in life, then your choice of friends must be those that want to be great and inspire greatness in you. Remember that Jonadab’s bad influence on Amnon brought shame, violence and untimely death to him. Also, the Bible clearly states: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed (Proverbs 13:20).

Therefore, if you must be wise and accomplish great feats in life, then you must choose to walk with the wise.

However, there is only one step to this. It is in making Jesus your number one friend. He alone can teach you how to make and sustain meaningful and godly relationships. You can make Jesus your friend by accepting Him as your Lord and Personal Saviour and you can do that right away.

Therefore, If you have made the decision to accept Jesus as your friend today, you should say this prayer in faith:

Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me.  Now I know I am born again!

Congratulations, you are now born again! I believe that you will begin to experience the reality of the price that Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary. All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name!  Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org, OR call 07026385437 and 08141320204.
