A NEW BEGINNING (2)
Peace and blessings in the precious name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. I welcome you to another exciting edition this week in God’s presence. As you read through by paying rapt attention to His Word, I see you manifesting the reality of His Word in all areas of your life.
Last week I taught on, A NEW BEGINNING, by establishing the fact that you should let go of your ugly past and rely on the help of the Holy Spirit to put an end to such habits which will give you a new beginning. This week, I will be sharing with you on OFFENCES. I pray that God opens your eyes of understanding in Jesus’ name.
Offence is an expression of inner annoyance and hatred as a result of a bad experience in the past towards God, yourself and others. Habouring offence is the first hindrance that stops young ones from the reality of a new beginning, it cuts you off from focusing on God for the realisation of your glorious destiny to believing what circumstances as made of you.
Firstly, for you to experience the reality of new beginning you have to be void of offences; forgive yourself of all your wrongs and let go of the past. Holding on to your past stops you from advancing and experiencing the glorious future God has in store for you. People who don’t forgive themselves hurt themselves at every remembrance of their past and set a limit for their tomorrow. Rick Warren said in his book The Purpose Driven Life, We are products of our past, but we don’t have to be prisoners of it.
Secondly, it is important for you to note that God is not an author of any calamity that you might have faced or are going through now in your life. You might have just failed an external exam, or you are going through a health challenge at the moment, do you think you don’t appear attractive as you would have wanted? Do you also think your physiology is to your disadvantage?
Whatever your circumstances may seem like, refuse to be offended in God, because if you are, who then will help you? Many people may have ridiculed or mocked you because of your present predicament or situation, but it is only a distraction to break your focus from your destination. The resultant effect of offence is bitterness which corrupts the glorious destiny of men (Hebrews 12:15). Like in the case of John the Baptist who through offence, his life was cut short thereby terminating his glorious destiny in Christ (Matthew 11:6; Mark 6:22-29) that shall not be your experience in Jesus’ name!
Therefore, let go of all your pains, sorrows, regrets, frustrations and forgive yourself from all your past wrongs and give God thanks for where you are now and in anticipation for the new beginning that you are stepping into. I congratulate you because I know that light has dawned on your path and you are marching into your glorious future in Christ.
However, for you to enjoy the reality of a new beginning, it starts with having a relationship with God by accepting Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and Saviour. If you are yet to do so you can say this prayer in faith with me: ‘Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me. Now I know I am born again’!
